The Hoops Index for the NBA is designed to forecast the winners of NBA basketball games. Historically, the Hoops Index has picked nearly 70% of the straight-up winners. Included here are the current forecast, recent results, team standings and our computer rankings and ratings. Ratings are now being updated on a daily basis. *Home Team Advantage is estimated to be +5 points. In games rated "even", our slight favorite is listed first. The +/- listings are for straight-up right and wrong only. We do not track pointspreads in the NBA!

NBA Free Play courtesy of Tony George, April 9

                    OVER 191 Hawks and Bulls

Teams with losing records and no chance for the Playoffs has their players looking to pad their stats on offense for job security. These 2 teams are a perfect example of that, and major changes are coming both their ways in the offseason. Look for a shootout tonight. The last time these 2 played on March 27th, they scored a combined total of 185, BOTH TEAMS shot less than 40% from the floor in that game. I expect this to come in around 200 tonight.

4 Stars Boston over NEW ORLEANS

                            - Both these teams have revenge games vs Eastern Conference opponents tomorrow. This favors the Celtics as they are a solid 16-4 ATS with a conference revenge game tomorrow and the Hornets are a poor 2-16 ATS with a conference revenge game the next day. In addition, the Hornets are 3-0 SU and ATS this season vs Boston winning each time as an underdog. Boston should go all out to prevent the season sweep. The Celtics are 5-0 ATS on the road versus a team that they lost to in their previous two match-ups of the season -- covering by an average of 12.3 points per game and the Hornets are 1-6 ATS at home vs a team with triple revenge. Grab the points and consider a moneyline play.
FORECAST: Boston 94 NEW ORLEANS 88
