Ryan Tannehill completed his first 18 attempts and threw for four scores in the first 16 minutes. He extended his two-game streak to 25 consecutive completions, an NFL record, before he threw his only incompletion in the fourth quarter. The Dolphins had been 0-7 previously against Houston, the only team they had never beaten.

          ---

          LONDON COMEBACK

Jacksonville's defense came up big in the first half, and Blake Bortles came through late to rally the Jaguars to a 34-31 win over the Buffalo Bills at Wembley Stadium. Bortles threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Allen Hurns with 2:16 remaining, after Buffalo safety Corey Graham intercepted a pass and returned it 44 yards to put the Bills ahead in a seesaw game that was streamed live on Yahoo's website. The Jaguars won their first game in London after losing in each of the past two seasons at Wembley, the home of England's national soccer team.

          ---

          STEELER SHUT DOWN

Pittsburgh's Landry Jones made his first NFL start in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Vick and threw for 209 yards and a touchdown, but he also was picked off twice and lost a fumble that helped end the game - a 23-13 win for Kansas City. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger, still out with a knee injury, was close to being ready to play, and that the quarterback should be ready to go next week against Cincinnati.

          ---

          A VERY BRADY PERFORMANCE

Tom Brady overcame New England's shaky first three quarters by throwing for a pair of touchdowns in the fourth, and the Patriots defeated the New York Jets 30-23 to remain unbeaten. He completed 14 of 17 passes in the final quarter to overcome a 20-16 deficit and give New England (6-0) a two-game lead over the Jets in the AFC East. Brady was 34 of 54 for 355 yards overall and also had an 11-yard scramble on a third-and-10. With 15 yards rushing, he was the Patriots' leading runner for the first time in his career. ''I should enjoy this, because it will probably never happen again,'' said Brady, who threw the ball on all but nine plays - tying the NFL record for the fewest rushes in a win.

          ---

          DOWN McCOWN

Josh McCown is 1-5 as the Cleveland starter and has lost to St. Louis for three straight seasons with three different teams, this time a 24-6 defeat Sunday. He was with Chicago in 2013 and Tampa Bay last year. He left for the locker room favoring his right shoulder with about four minutes left, and was replaced by Johnny Manziel. McCown said he was hurt on the second sack/fumble when he was hit on the elbow.

          ---

          COMEBACK KIRK

But Kirk Cousins threw for three second-half TDs, including the go-ahead score to Jordan Reed with 24 seconds left, and the Redskins came back to stun the Bucs 31-30 for the largest comeback in franchise history. Cousins finished 33 for 40 for 317 yards, the trio of scores and zero interceptions. He also ran for an 8-yard touchdown in the second quarter for the first points for the Redskins (3-4), making it 24-7 at halftime.

          CATCHING ON

Minnesota's Stefon Diggs had six receptions for 108 yards, giving him 19 catches for 324 yards in three games after being inactive for the first three games. He joined Anquan Boldin, who made his debut with the Arizona Cardinals in 2003, as the only NFL players since at least 1960 to have that many catches and yards receiving in their first three games, according to STATS.

          ---

          SIDELINED

Houston's Arian Foster injured his right Achilles tendon late in the fourth quarter of a 44-26 loss at Miami. Texans coach Bill O'Brien said he didn't know the severity of the injury, but added ''it obviously didn't look good.'' ... Washington LB Ryan Kerrigan broke a hand, LB Perry Riley Jr. sustained a lower leg muscle strain and CB Bashaud Breeland strained a hamstring strain. In that game, Buccaneers WRs Louis Murphy and Vincent Jackson left with knee injuries.

          ---

          SPEAKING

''I'm pretty sure there are fans, or people all over the world that are Redskins fans, that probably were thinking, like, `Here we go again. Something bad's going to happen.' But everyone on the sideline had the confidence that we were going to score and win the game.'' - Redskins defensive tackle Terrance ''Pot Roast'' Knighton after Washington rallied from 24 points down to beat Tampa Bay 31-30 for the biggest comeback in franchise history.

          ---

''I've been dipping for over 10 years and I'm immune to swallowing dip when I need to. I think it was something I ate.'' - Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, who played a day after being listed as questionable and scoffed at a report that indicated his illness stemmed from swallowing chewing tobacco.

            Sunday's NFL Capsules
            October 26, 2015

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) Tom Brady overcame New England's shaky first three quarters by throwing for a pair of touchdowns in the fourth, and the Patriots beat the New York Jets 30-23 on Sunday to remain unbeaten.

Brady completed 14 of 17 passes in the final quarter to overcome a 20-16 lead and give New England a two-game lead over the Jets in the AFC East. He was 34 of 54 for 355 yards overall - numbers that would have been even better if not for the 11 drops by his receivers, six by newly activated Brandon LaFell.

The Jets kicked a field goal on first down and then recovered the onside kick with 15 seconds left. But a false-start penalty on Brandon Marshall ended the game after a short pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick left the Jets 37 yards from the tying score.

            ---

            PANTHERS 27, EAGLES 16

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Cam Newton took another step toward rewriting the NFL record book, and the Carolina Panthers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles to improve to 6-0 for the first time in franchise history.

Newton threw for a touchdown and ran for another score, marking the fourth time this season he has accomplished that feat in a game and 28th time in his career - three behind Hall of Famer Steve Young for the league record. Jonathan Stewart ran for 119 yards and Mike Tolbert scored two touchdowns for Carolina, which has won a franchise-record 10 straight regular-season games dating to last season.

The Eagles (3-4) were only able to convert three interceptions by Newton into six points. The Panthers held Sam Bradford to 205 yards passing and sacked him five times, including twice by Jared Allen.

            ---

            GIANTS 27, COWBOYS 20

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Dwayne Harris sped 100 yards with a kickoff return against his former Dallas teammates seconds after the Cowboys had tied the game, and New York moved atop the NFC East with a victory.

Harris spent four seasons in Dallas without running back a kickoff for a score. But he tied a Giants record set in 1994 by romping untouched to the end zone.

New York (4-3) snapped a five-game slide against Dallas (2-4) thanks to big plays by its defense and special teams. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie had two interceptions, returning one 58 yards for a touchdown.

The Cowboys, losers of four in a row without injured offensive stars Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, got a big game from Darren McFadden. Starting running back Joseph Randle left early with a strained back, and McFadden rushed for 152 yards and a TD.

            ---

            DOLPHINS 44, TEXANS 26

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - Miami became the first team since at least 1940 to score four offensive touchdowns of at least 50 yards in a half.

The Dolphins led 41-0 at halftime, making the drubbing even more emphatic than a 38-10 win at Tennessee a week earlier in Dan Campbell's debut as head coach.

Now he's the fifth interim coach of 26 since 2000 to win his first two games. Since the firing of Joe Philbin on Oct. 5, the Dolphins (3-3) have gone from notorious underachievers to contending for their first playoff berth since 2008.

The Dolphins had been 0-7 previously against Houston (2-5). Miami's four long scores in the first half were the most in at least 75 years, according to STATS.

            ---

            REDSKINS 31, BUCCANEERS 30

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Kirk Cousins threw three second-half touchdown passes, including the go-ahead score with 24 seconds left, to lead Washington to the largest comeback in franchise history.

Tampa Bay (2-4) was up 24-0 in the second quarter, before Cousins ran for an 8-yard TD to get Washington (3-4) on the board.

Cousins hadn't completed more than one TD pass in any game all season. But he got a pair of 3-yard scores in the third quarter, sandwiched around an onside kick, to make things interesting.

Then, trailing 30-24, Washington got the ball at its 20 with a little less than 2 1/2 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Cousins capped the drive with a 6-yard TD toss to Jordan Reed.

            ---

            RAIDERS 37, CHARGERS 29

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Derek Carr threw three touchdown passes, including a 52-yarder to Amari Cooper, and Oakland turned two interceptions of Philip Rivers into 10 points on their way to an easy victory over in what could be the last game of the AFC West rivalry played in San Diego.

It was the first meeting of the Raiders (3-3) and Chargers (2-5) since their owners announced plans to build a $1.7 billion stadium in an industrial Los Angeles suburb if they can't get new stadiums in their home markets.

Coming off a bye, the Raiders looked quicker and more efficient. Cooper, the first-round draft pick out of Alabama, caught a short pass from Carr on an inside screen and raced through the defense to give Oakland a 30-3 lead just before halftime.

San Diego made it close with three fourth-quarter touchdowns.

            ---

            VIKINGS 28, LIONS 19

DETROIT (AP) - Teddy Bridgewater threw for a season-high 316 yards and two touchdowns for Minnesota.

Adrian Peterson rushed for 98 yards as the Vikings (4-2) won an NFC North game on the road for the first time in three years.

The Lions (1-6) had an 11-point lead after Matthew Stafford threw TDs on their first two drives, but they blew it because they couldn't protect the quarterback.

Minnesota had a season-high seven sacks, which also was a season worst for Detroit.

            ---

            FALCONS 10, TITANS 7

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Matt Ryan threw for 251 yards and a touchdown pass, and Devonta Freeman ran for 116 yards.

The Falcons (6-1) bounced back from their first loss by grinding out a road win and overcoming two interceptions. Freeman notched his third consecutive game with at least 100 yards, and Atlanta outgained Tennessee 378-256.

The banged-up Titans (1-5) lost their fifth straight overall. They played without rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota, who was replaced by Zach Mettenberger - intercepted by safety Robenson Therezie with 1:31 left to seal the win.

            ---

            JAGUARS 34, BILLS 31

LONDON (AP) - Blake Bortles threw a touchdown pass to Allen Hurns with 2:16 remaining and Jacksonville rallied in the game at Wembley Stadium.

Bortles' second TD pass of the game came a short time after Buffalo safety Corey Graham intercepted a pass and returned it 44 yards to put the Bills ahead.

The Jaguars (2-5) won their first game in London after losing in each of the past two seasons at Wembley, the home of England's national soccer team. The Bills (3-4) were playing in the British capital for the first time.

            ---

            RAMS 24, BROWNS 6

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Rookie Todd Gurley rushed for 128 yards and his first two touchdowns, helping St. Louis to the win.

St. Louis (3-3) had four sacks and recovered four fumbles. The Rams scored 10 points off miscues on Cleveland's first two series, a 17-yard fumble recovery by Rodney McLeod and a field goal after the first of William Hayes' two sacks and strips of Josh McCown on the day.

Johnny Manziel got mop-up duty for the Browns (2-5) after McCown left favoring his right arm with about four minutes left.

            ---

            CHIEFS 23, STEELERS 13

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Alex Smith threw for 251 yards and a touchdown, Cairo Santos kicked three field goals as Kansas City ended a five-game losing streak.

Charcandrick West added 110 yards rushing and his first career touchdown for the Chiefs (2-5), and Eric Berry intercepted his first pass since his cancer diagnosis last December.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs shut down Pittsburgh's Landry Jones, who made his first NFL start in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Vick. Jones threw for 209 yards and a touchdown, but he was also picked off twice and lost a fumble.

Le'Veon Bell ran for 121 yards for the Steelers (4-3).

            ---

            SAINTS 27, COLTS 21

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Drew Brees threw for 255 yards and one touchdown, Khiry Robinson ran for two scores and New Orleans held on for the victory.

New Orleans (3-4) has won three of its past four. Indy (3-4) still leads the AFC South despite losing its second straight.

Brees finished 28 of 44 and was helped by a running game led by Mark Ingram, who ran for 143 yards and one score as New Orleans took a 27-0 lead.

Andrew Luck threw TD passes of 87 and 46 yards to T.Y. Hilton, and an 8-yard TD pass to Donte Moncrief with 3:46 left to make it 27-21.

              MNF - Ravens at Cardinals
              October 25, 2015

The Ravens travel west of the Mississippi River for the fourth time this season, as Baltimore looks to get its disastrous season on track at Arizona. The Cardinals return home after an ugly loss at Pittsburgh, just the second setback in six games as Arizona attempts to maintain its lead inside the NFC West to close out Week 7.

How bad has it been for Baltimore in 2015? The Ravens (1-5 straight up, 0-5-1 against the spread) are the only team in the league that has yet to cover a game, with their lone victory at Pittsburgh coming as three-point favorites in a 23-20 overtime win in Week 4. John Harbaugh’s team had high expectations after falling short of the AFC championship last season, but the Ravens’ defense has let them down, ranking 27th in pass defense and 27th in points allowed per game (27.0).

All five losses suffered by the Ravens have come by six points or less, including three defeats with the lead in the fourth quarter. Baltimore came out flat in last Sunday’s Super Bowl rematch from three seasons ago in a 25-20 setback at San Francisco as 2 ½-point road favorites. The Ravens didn’t score their first touchdown until late in the third quarter, while Joe Flacco threw a pair of interceptions in spite of 343 yards passing. Baltimore has been favored five times this season, going 0-2-1 ATS as road chalk, while losing in its lone underdog spot at Denver in Week 1.

The Cardinals (4-2 SU/ATS) have been in control in the NFC West with the Seahawks, Rams, and 49ers struggling early. Arizona can rebuild a 1 ½-game advantage over St. Louis with a victory on Monday, as the Cards were held to three points in the second half of a 25-13 loss at Pittsburgh last Sunday. Carson Palmer eclipsed the 300-yard passing mark for the fourth time this season by throwing for 421 yards, but was also intercepted twice. Chris Johnson had run the ball well in his comeback tour with the Cardinals, but the former Pro Bowler was limited to 40 yards on the ground.

From a totals standpoint, Arizona finally cashed an ‘under’ following a five straight ‘overs,’ including a 3-0 mark to the ‘over’ at University of Phoenix Stadium. In two of those ‘overs’ at home, a late touchdown by Arizona has hit the ‘over,’ including a 55-yard touchdown pass by Palmer in the opener against the Saints to barely go ‘over’ the total of 48 ½ in a 31-19 win. The Ravens are 4-1 to the ‘over’ since cashing an ‘under’ at Denver in the opener, while going 8-5-1 to the ‘over’ on the road since the start of 2014.

The last time these teams met came in 2011, as the Ravens erased a 24-3 deficit to stun the Cardinals, 30-27. Arizona entered the game as 12-point road underdogs, while benefiting from an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown by Patrick Peterson in the first half. Ray Rice rushed for three touchdowns as the Ravens’ defense limited Arizona to 207 yards. The Ravens have won four straight matchups in the series since 2000, while making its first trip to the desert since 2003 and visiting Glendale for the first time.

VegasInsider.com handicapper Joe Nelson says the Ravens are in a must-win spot from here on out, “This franchise has finished no worse than 8-8 in seven straight seasons since 2008 with a consistent track record of success. The Baltimore defense finished in the top 10 of the league last season in total defense and yards per play defense but those numbers have slipped dramatically through six games this season. With Cincinnati at 6-0 and the Steelers and Browns looking like competitive teams in the AFC North, it is hard to say if the Ravens will be able salvage a run back to respectability or if this is a team that will sink further in a lost season.”

On the flip side, Nelson believes the Cardinals have to take advantage on Monday following last week’s setback, “It does feel like Arizona has missed an opportunity to be even further in front of the division race dropping games with St. Louis and Pittsburgh in two of the last three weeks. The four wins for Arizona have all come against losing teams and they have had 13 turnovers go their way in the wins as there is valid reason to be suspect of the Cardinals as a legitimate NFC contender. The Cardinals are a top 10 team in both scoring and total defense as well as the numbers add up, but Arizona has also committed 10 turnovers this season and the protection for injury-prone Palmer has had plenty of breakdowns leading to some big plays the other way.”

The Cardinals own a 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS record in their last four Monday night games since 2009, while failing to cover against another AFC foe, San Diego in the 2014 opener in a one-point victory. Under Bruce Arians, Arizona has had plenty of success in interconference play, winning seven of eight meetings against the AFC, including a perfect 4-0 mark at home.

The Ravens have won three straight Monday night contests, which includes road victories over NFC opponents the last two seasons at Detroit (2013) and New Orleans (2014). Baltimore has been listed as an underdog of higher than eight points only once under Harbaugh, coming in the 2012 exciting double-overtime victory at Denver in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.

The ‘under’ has been nearly automatic on Monday night this season, hitting in six of seven contests. The underdog is 5-2 ATS on Mondays, but home teams have won five of seven times, including Philadelphia’s 27-7 blowout of New York last week.

The Cardinals opened up as seven-point favorites, but have jumped to nine-point chalk at most books heading into Monday night. The total is set at 49 ½ at many outlets, as the Ravens haven’t seen a total higher than 46 ½ yet this season. The game kicks off at 8:30 PM EST from Glendale and can be seen nationally on ESPN.

Books earn small win in Week 7
                  October 26, 2015

Three undefeated teams had byes during Week 7 NFL action which put bettors in a situation they don't like to be in.

Every week they like the Packers. They have the Bengals and they're starting to trust the Broncos and their stout defense. But none of those teams were available on Sunday.

The teams they had to choose from were a new breed of favorites like the Falcons at Tennessee. Atlanta had covered four of six games.

And there was an old favorite like the Steelers who the public has always loved, but until recently had been skeptical to trust. Pittsburgh had gone 9-1-1 against the spread in its past 11 games and was using third-string quarterback Landry Jones at Kansas City.

With not so much one-sided action, and a week that featured only two late games, the books found themselves in a position to fare well and did.

It was almost as the NFL did them a favor in scheduling, but we already know NFL commissioner Roger Goodell doesn't like Las Vegas -- or at least until he can get a piece of the win percentage.

"The public had their sides they did well on, but stumbled a bit with the Colts and Falcons, said South Point sports book director Bert Osborne. "The Titans turned out to be the best game of the day for us while the Falcons still hurt us a little bit with the teasers."

It's not hard to understand why there was an alure to Atlanta. The Falcons were almost everyone's favorite bet of Week 7, or at least the ticket count showed it that way. Titans' rookie QB Marcus Mariota didn't play and the odds increased from the Westgate's early line of -3 up to -6 with back-up Zach Mettenberger, but it would take a late rally for the Falcons to win 10-7.

"The Titans were the biggest game for us from a parlay standpoint," said Station Casinos sports book director Jason McCormick.

Sharp money did well early on with the Rams 24-6 win as 6-point favorites and also the Jets covering 9-points in a 30-23 loss at New England.

The public loved the Rams as well, but they also laid the points with New England negating any momentum they might have had on parlays. The Jets got a late field goal to the cut the margin to seven points, which ruined several parlays across town. People love the now 6-0 Patriots too, but a few still got paid on them.

"The teaser and money-line parlays with the Patriots still hurt us," said McCormick.

Way to go people. You got the double whammy on the books with that one, but still, it wasn't enough to get the players' fourth win of the season over the house.

And what got things worse for the public was that there was only two games in the afternoon, and most parlay hopes were dashed when the Raiders spanked the Chargers (-3.5) in San Diego, 37-29, a score that wasn't nearly as revealing as the true beat down.

"The afternoon turned out to be a wash for us where we won a little with the Raiders and were even with the Giants," said Osborne. "We got some sharp plays on the Cowboys (+3.5) during the week."

The Panthers moved to 6-0 as 2.5-point home favorites with their 27-16 win against the Eagles and Osborne at the South Point said it was their "best scenario -- favorite to UNDER, and killing Philly teasers."

But the big risk was still to come Monday as America's new team -- the Arizona Cardinals -- seemed to be on everyone's parlay ticket laying 9.5-points against the Ravens.

So far this season, Monday night's have been better than usual for the house, but some bookmakers would like to trade result positions from the past.

"I kind of liked last years trend better when we'd win on Sunday's and lose on Monday's," MGM Resorts VP of race and sports Jay Rood joked before week 7's games began. "Now we're losing on Sunday's and winning small on Monday's."

Scoreboard reads: Sports Books 4, Players 3

Not bad players. Keep at it!
