Armadillo: Tuesday's six-pack
Current odds to win the World Series this season.......
13-2-- Detroit Tigers-- This was before Cabrera got hurt last night.
7-1-- St Louis Cardinals-- Will they add a player before trade deadline?
8-1-- Atlanta Braves-- Stole a game at Citi Field Monday night.
9-1-- Boston Red Sox-- Last year's disaster seems like a long time ago.
9-1-- Los Angeles Dodgers-- From worst to first place in 22 days.
10-1-- Oakland A's-- AmericA's team needs a healthy Cespedes.

Armadillo: Tuesday's List of 13: Random thoughts as I head home........
13) Tigers lost Miguel Cabrera with a hip flexor Monday night; not good for them if the big guy misses an extended period. He's that good.
12) Pirates lost closer Jason Grilli with right forearm issues in ninth inning Monday; they should go get Jonathan Papelbon. Try to win.
11) Nationals have now lost Dan Haren's last 11 starts; tough year for the Nats, who were expected to be a playoff team.
10) If you bet the total in the first five innings of a game, which is an option, note that since the All-Star break, under is 33-24-3 in the first five innings of a game.
9) UTEP hoop coach Tiom Floyd is mad because his prize recruit, Isaac Hamilton, is never going to get to El Paso- he's miraculously come up with a sick grandmother in LA and wants to go to school in that area. The school that lands Hamilton (UCLA or USC) will have some explaining to do, as far as tampering charges go.
If it is USC, the plot thickens, since Floyd used to be the coach at USC, before recruiting issues cost him his job there. Ironic.
8) SEC football coaches are all over ESPN; last week it was pre-season press conferences on ESPNU, this week they're all in studio, with the SEC Network starting next year. Has to help recruiting a lot.
7) Tim Lincecum threw a no-hitter last week, then went out Monday and gave up eight runs in 3.2 IP. Giants have an interesting decision as far as he is concerned; kind of tough to give him a big contract after the last two years.
6) Orioles won 9-2 in Kansas City Monday; Baltimore pitchers threw only 116 pitches, while KC hurlers threw 201. Buck Showalter is winning games with a pitching staff that doesn't have a true #1 ace starter.
5) Forgot to mention this last week; former Missouri coach Quin Snyder is an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks and coached their summer league team. Further proof that sitting next to Mike Krzyzewski doesn't make you a great coach, or even a good one.
4) I don't give a rat's ass about the Royal Family; I hope the little baby is healthy and happy, but other than that, don't want to hear a word about any of them. What do they do? Do they have any special skill? Oy.
3) RIP Dennis Farina, the great character actor who played so many tough guys in TV/movies. He was also the manager of the Twins who got fired in the beginning of Little Big League, an underrated movie.
2) Bottom line on the Ryan Braun suspension is this: Milwaukee's season is history, so Braun took a plea bargain, is docked $3M+ in salary but gets to start over next season. We'll see who else goes down that path this month.
1) I'm heading home from summer vacation, energized by my friends and the fun we've had, ready to tackle whatever lies ahead. If you've never been to Las Vegas, you should do it, even if only once- there's a little something for everybody here. I hear gambling is legal here.......lol
