Its not how, where, or why that decides this.

Its when a team loses. Ok lost relatively early (October 11), allowing them to sit back and gain BCS momentum points. Florida lost fairly early (September 27), allowing them to do the same. If Texas lost to Tx Tech on September 1 instead of November 1, they would be playing Mizzou on Saturday.

Factor in politics and tv ratings power, and there you have the BCS formula for a title game. The powers that be are praying for a Florida-Oklahoma title game.

wouldn't those factors favor a Fla-Tex match up?

IF mizzou upsets OU who goes to the title game???? Texas or USC? I know its out there, mbut I'd love to see that mess. Personally I think USC would, but thats just me

Texas lost on November 1st, Oklahoma lost on October 11. Florida in late September.

If Texas lost to Texas Tech in September instead of Nov, they would be playing this Saturday.

You hate to see it, but you will start seeing AD's from weaker conferences start scheduling tougher games early in the season instead of smaller division schools.

Texas would go,as they are ahead of usc- the trojans thank god are playing oennst, in the rose bowl, who the hell wouldve wanted an oregonst-pennst rematch- this rose bowl will be classic.BTW mizzou was better last year than this year, and okl. is better this year than last and they gave mizzou there only 2 losses, id love to see mizzou do it, but i doubt it.Same for alabama, can they stop florida?ID LOVE TO SEE BOISET AGAINST UTAH- BATTLE OF THE UNDEFEATEDS. bol gc-

Yep, it's all about teams like Florida playing teams like the Citadel in late November!

TEXAS BEAT OU ON A NEUTRAL FIELD

Not at home, on a neutral field.

                    Again, what a f'ing joke.

so what about texas tech. why is it okay for texas to be ahead of them, as tech beat texas.

It's not, but Tech beat Texas at home (by 6).

Texas beat OU on a neutral field (by 10).

If Mizzou beats OU, it will most likely be the UF/Bama winner vs. Texas.

If OU beats Mizzou, it will be OU vs. UF/Bama winner.

Either way, unless Bama wins its next 2 games, THERE WILL NOT BE A TRUE NATIONAL CHAMPION THIS YEAR.

I haven't read through all the post, but it's not a given.

I am wondering if Oklahoma loses and Florida wins, does Bama play florida or does Texas play florida.

Remember 5 years ago when Oklahoma was #1 and lost the Big 12 Champ game to Kansas State and still got to play USC for the National Champ when LSU should have played.

Again college football and their system is a farce. Fans should boycott the sport. Until they do the fans will go through his BS each and every season.
If that's the case, how does Texas rank ahead of Texas Tech?

Texas wouldn't have this problem if they beat Texas A&M by more.

I think Florida is the beast team in the country. They beat everyone in the head (except 1 pt home lose to miss)

What sucks is that even a playoff doesn't solve this problem. Beacosu Cincy would get into a playoff and Texas Tech would probably get left out as would Boise State. Mid-Majors deserve a shot and a playoff would give it to them. though. They have proven they can beat a BSC team everytime the make a BCS bowl (except Hawaii)

No matter what. The problem in college football will never be solved.
