By comparison, Milwaukee, a smaller market, has sold out all three games of its homestand this week with Houston.

Don't give me a hurricane excuse. MLB counts tickets sold so nobody even bothered to buy this series in advance.
In fairness, the hurricane is a valid excuse. Most season tickets are bought in the off-season. No one expected the Rays to be this good. What's their season ticket base? How many tickets are purchased at the ticket window?

Pending hurricanes are a joke in Florida. Our schools were closed the last two days. The tropical storm is only now hitting my area.

Frank, Two, Three, Four weeks ago, when the Rays were in 1st place and Anaheim had the best record in baseball, don't you think fans would be scooping those tickets up? Even if they only have 5,000 season ticket holders, you only sell 10,000 to a great 1st place matchup? That is very poor fan support. The hurricane can be blamed for how many attended but ticket sales, not so much.

I'm not disputing their fan base sucks. They do. I agree they should be selling 40k, 50k per game.

But as a fan if you know you can buy a ticket at the gate on game day you're not going to buy them in advance. They're last home stand they had attendance at 27k and a few games over 30k. Which still sucks.

Also, at one time one league used actual attendance while the other league used tickets sold. I'm not sure if that's still true.

I don't know if this is a valid criticism,(and to tell you the truth, I don't know the area very well), but my wife and I thought that the location of the stadium was in the middle of nowhere and certainly not very inviting for folks who want to do other things other than attend the game.
I didn't see any stores, restaurants or anything interesting in the vicinity of the ballpark.
Again we drove from Disneyworld in Orlando, where there was everything, so perhaps our opinions are tainted a bit in comparison.

The stadium stinks and if people sold out the place now, they would be considered frontrunners

Dude, the stadium is one of the worst in baseball, and the team has been awful for how long? I guess fans should just show up in droves now that they're good.

TB is 26th of 30 teams in avg attendance.

Guess they should also contract Oakland, KC, Pitt, and Florida as well.
