Greek, The one thing i least understand in all of your stories and comments here is this. How the hell did you have multiple GOY plays in the playoffs/finals if you are so sure it is fixed. I've heard your 50/50 chance of winning story already and although i agree with that, it still makes NO SENSE to drop bombs on games that you know/think are fixed UNLESS ... You know the outcome and i don't think that was the case. I agree with vols fan or whoever else said it. The people here who think the NBA is so fixed are the 1st ones posting huge wagers on the sport. I just don't get it. You contradict yourself every time you do that.

The final point is this: While there are an undetermined number of games "fixed", or corrupted, the majority of all of them, and I am talking almost all of them , are straight, meaning no funny business involving referees, players, coaches, etc. There is nothing forcing anyone to place wagers on one side or the other. And remember, for every loser there is a winner, and vice versa. Simple mathematics and probability offer the real chance that if one has been betting on sports/races/games for any length of time, "fixed" games have occurred, and while the chance is high that the bettor has been on the wrong side of the " fix", the odds are virtually equal that the bettor has been on the unknowing right side of the "fix" an equal amount of times.
It's laughable when members say they don't NBA because it's fixed. There's 1300 NBA games in a season. Of that 1300 how many are fixed? 20? The likelihood of betting on a game that's fixed is slim.Last edited by frankb03; 07-15-2008, 04:38 PM.

My long-winded essay ( post #59) could have been summarized in a capsule:
The games don't need to be fixed for the casino/book to make money. Further it is bad business. If enough people became skeptical of whether it is legit or not, then went away, it would be a losing proposition ( less volume). Why is it so hard to believe these guys who devote their whole lives to setting odds to create a coin-flip like decision are actually very good, in fact the best in the world, at what they do?You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

AS for my comment, Chado you say some people are too closed minded to see the other side of the argument but do you realize that you have become the exact same way? It is fine to have opinions chad, actually I embrace that people have their own minds but you say people are too closed minded to see the "obvious" yet you are too closed minded to see ANY logic other than your own and all who oppose you, you tell them they're wrong and put that hand smacking the face thing....
not 'bashing' you but can you not see that you fail to see two sides of an argument as well?Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910
