Find out the times of the night show and Paris casino is right across the street.Ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower and watch the fountains from there. It's awsome.
the dualing piano shows at New York, New York and at Harrah's are pretty entertaining. Lots of good advice already given about not spending all your time at the tables. If blackjack is your game, however, go downtown to play. I personally prefer the 2-deck tables at 4 queens.
My oldest son is getting married in Vegas in October. There's a huge group of us going. One of the things we're going to do while there is play some golf. The courses are expensive but it takes 4 or 5 hours for $200 or $300 to disappear there. I can do that in a heartbeat at the blackjack table.
Also, if you do play blackjack, be selective on your tables. A lot of them only pay 6:5. That's not real blackjack. Real blackjack pays 3:2.
If you're ever on the end of the strip where Harrah's is in the morning...there's a really good breakfast at a Mom and Pop casino just off the strip called "Ellis Island". There aren't too many of those mom and pop operations left in Vegas, but you can get a killer breakfast for about $3 or $4.
Sportsbook at the MGM Grand is really cool.
My youngest son hosted a bachelor party in Vegas last month. He said they spent an afternoon at the Flamingo pool that's Euro style. I didn't know what Euro meant. It's topless or clothing optional or something. Anyway, a $10 cover and sit at the pool and drink beer and watch some talented amateur ladies.
I always stay Downtown, Not as Glamorous as the Strip, more of a working class environment with several casinos within walking distance 2-3 blocks square including The Golden Nugget, Binions, 4 Queens, Las Vegas Club and many more.
At night the canopy stretching for 2 blocks on Fremont, becomes the Fremont St. Experience, World's Largest Digital Big Screen with light shows and music on the hour.
Crap tables are usually good at Binions on Friday and Saturday nights if you can get a spot on them,(Big favorite of the locals)
Main Street Station has a good buffet, under $15 with beautiful Victorian architecture if you enjoy stained glass, walnut woodwork, gargoyles and such.
ESPNzone at New York, New York on the strip is a great place for a beer and burger on non game days,(Too crowded on game days) Plus cool ESPN Merchandise. Enjoy and Have Fun!!

we won 2 trips to vegas and the first 1 we did real good. they dont give you any time to have fun. we would start our last match around 2 am and finsh about 4 am. then they would start you back at 7 or 8 am. it was not fun at all. the second time we went we lost early and had a blast. so good luck out there and I hope if you win you go all the way then it would be worth it. if you lose early you know what they say---everything stays in vegas.
