FRANK THANKS FOR PUTTING THIS OUT WAS VERY NICE TO WATCH ALL 3 TRIPLE CROWN RACES BU SECRETARIAT.THING THAT SURPRISED ME WAS THAT HORSE SHAM WAS NOT BAD EITHER.WAS 2ND AT THE DERBY AND PREAKNESS THEN GOT IN A SPEED DUAL AT THE BELMONT AND GOT RAN DOWN BY ALOT OF OTHERS BUT THAT HORSE WAS LEGIT.

I think you don't have to worry about casino drive betting Big Brown unless Kent falls off. Your best bet is trying for the super.

Any WPS bet is a waste. I see Big Brown going off at 1-9 for all the people who will bet $2 to win on BB just so they can say they had the winning ticket.

I myself will try for a nice super like in the preankess (didn't hit that one though) and will have a tri ticket with 2 other horses (one of which may not me casino drive).

When betting the Belmont I play what I like to call the "Birdstone Angle" Take a horse that ran the Derby, took the Preakness off and a grade one winner. Tale of ekati is only horse to fit that play.

FRANK IS sooooo right-every now and then some nut will bet like 20 dimes on a horse to show,if the horse does not hit the board,very freaky things can happen like 2 to 1 chalks paying 8.00 in the show hole !!

Or even better some nut betting a shit load to show on a horse that goes off at 1-5 or 1-9, then a finishes off the Board resulting in a negative show pool creating a show payout on the other three horses that pays more that the win payoff.

a 5-1 that pays $12.00 to win might also pay $20.00 to show. Rare, but it happens.

You're right! Sham's jockey Laffit Pincay was told to get into a speed dual with Secretariat. They were racing as though it was a sprint race with very fast quarter mile fractions. Most horses don't run a 6 furlongs race in the time that Secretariat ran the first 6 furlongs in the Belmont. Most horses would have wilted. He still had another 6 furlongs to run.

Sham never raced again after the Belmont.

He's not a grade 1 winner, the Coolmore Lexington was a grade 2

Tomcito is a Grade 1 winner (Group 1) but he didn't run the derby

HE NEVER RACED AGAIN.THAT HORSE WAS 2ND TO SECRETARIAT TWICE LOSING BY LESS THAN 3 LENGTHS EACH TIME.WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE WHAT HE WOULD HAVE DONE ANY OTHER YEAR THAN 1973.HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE 1974 TRIPLE CROWN WINNER AND A HORSE WE TALK ABOUT TODAY.SHAM HAS MY KIND OF LUCK

Wow, i didnt realize there were only 5 horses in that race.

I fully expect Big Brown to win. Let's see if he comes close to Secretariat's stakes record of 2:24.

How great was Secretariats performance? The closest any of the other Belmont Stakes winner would have finished is 10 lengths or 2 seconds behind Secretariat.
