Mr Pain didnt know you were joking but his explanation is spot on. Knee on knee hits are automatically called a penalty in any league. Many players have had career ending injuries from knee on knees. It is not taken lightly and thats why some fan threw his beer on Richards when he went to the box. Unintentional though it was by Richards but it was on our star player. Could have injured him for the rest of the playoffs if it was dead on contact on the right spot.

You are correct sir. But this is after the play was over when technology gives us the privilege of video replay. However in fast real speed of game play motion the refs had to call that and would have in any league. But I did see the replay after and agree it was shoulder not knee.

It was definitely a shoulder and not a knee.

I understand the 2nd goal got video replayed from Toronto or wherever else in CA, but the guy's stick hit the fucking crossbar on the way down which pretty much proves that it was too high. The Flyers got shafted in that game, but when all is said and done, they can't keep coughing up 2 goal leads.

I know your mad at the loss but i just wanted to tell you as a hockey guy you HAVE to make that call, and that is probably why philly tried it, they thought the refs wouldn't call anything at that point. sorry about your loss bud. for the record I am a avalanche fan not canadiens. Avalanche lost too, so i ain't so happy over here either.

I didn't watch the game or see the penalty. Although, I no longer follow hockey, I was a huge fan for over 30 years. The biggest problem with hockey especially playoff hockey has always been the inconsistency of the officiating.

I've watch too many games where the refs call everything by the book for 2 periods then the 3rd becomes a wrestling match. Why do you think so many playoff games go into double and triple OT? Because the players clutch and grab. It's nearly impossible to generate good scoring opportunities.

Another common example. The refs don't call shit. Then make the strangest call at the most inexplicable and crucial moment.

The one positive thing I can say about NHL officiating, unlike the NBA, the refs aren't as prone to make home town calls. I've seen many calls go against the home town. I've seen far to many go against the Rangers in crucial playoffs games.
