All borderline goals are reviwed from video replay in NHL's head office in Toronto in what they call the "war room". You guys would have watched the feed of last nights game on a different network. For the people in Canada or with satellite who watched the game on the CBC network like myself, the announcers told the viewers about 10-15 minutes after the goal was considered "good" that they "received a message from Toronto's video replay war room" to tell the viewers that with their camera angles there was clear and conclusive evidence that showed the stick made contact with the puck below the crossbar and thats why the goal counted. If you watched it on a different network you may not have known about the message the video replay room sent the announcers to tell the viewers.
