Every rush up the ice raises the blood pressure as you know that it could be a goal that makes the difference in the game. Add to that, incredible skill( eye hand coordination and skating) combined with amazing hits and fights, not to mention the toughest athletes on Earth. I have seen players take multiple stiches or even broken jaws and then come back to play the next shift or period. Maybe I am biased because i live in the North, but Hockey does deserve some Love.
Honestly bro...just re-read this post you made and you put the nail on the coffin...toughest athletes and best sport on the earth....couldnt have put your post any better myself...its a damn shame people cant see it for how intense it really is....

I'm glad Richards went to a contender, and I really hope you are right about Smith. Reaction in Tampa is mixed, but the money was freed up to re-sign Boyle.

They also dealt Prospal to Philly for minor leaguer Alexandre Picard...I was hoping they could get more with the season Prospal is having, but something is better than nothing.

Funny how nobody has said anything about DBURGH's post...this is the most truthful and well said post about hockey as a sport in general its utterly disgusting!!! I guess its because you may have had to play hockey as a child or have grown up watching it in your family for your whole life to understand the sheer physical grit and tougness these players are part of!!!

I am bumping this post once again...you seriously should not consider yourself a big sports fan AT ALL if you dont like hockey....no doubt about that...not a true sports fan!!!

I'm sure it is intense.Just like 20 laps left in the Daytona 500 and your team has to change 4 tires in 13 seconds or Tiger Woods and Mickelson tied going into the back nine at Augusta or Game 7 of the World Series or the Super Bowl or College Football(every weekend) or March Madness.I guess my point is maybe Hockey is the only sport that matters up there where as here you feel that playoff intensity all the time in alot of sports and we never get too worked up about it.

yea I guess you have to grow up playing the game and living in a hockey family where it is always on the tv every night and for all of your childhood waking up every weekend for early morning 6AM practices and all everyone every talks about in and outside the game....I guess growing up with it like myself makes a big difference.....

Oh how this brings back memories...the early 6AM games and practices...sleeping over with your friends as a young child getting pumped for your game in the morning....watching the pro NHL games the night before and then waking up in the brisk ice cold morning with snow everywhere and going to Tim Hortons for Hot Chocolate on the way there....scoring the big goal or making the amazing pass or the heavy bonecrushing hit that would make yourself, parents, and teamattes scream and go crazy....hockey parents pressuring and screaming at the refs and coaches cause their 5 year old kid is getting the short end of the load....ah the good ole days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have the same memories it's just with little league baseball and football. That I guess is the difference in us and you.I can walk by a fresh mowed yard and think about 2 a days(practice over the summer in High School football) in July hot as hell, throwing up,sore as shit and wishing I could do it all over again. It's just different cultures and regions that make us all different.

ahhh sabres never keep their best players never have never will...but it was inevitable(spelling) that campbell was gonna go at least we got a first rounder out of it and bernier (not too sure about how good bernier is but) isntead of losing him for nothing in the summer

This is not a bad trade for your Sabres at all....Steve Bernier is a very good hockey player and can beneift your team and a first round draft pick is HUGE!!!
