With that said, many pro athletes from other sports have turned to golf after their career was over and done pretty well. Alot of guys have won events or become great scratch golfers. I don't see any golfers trying their hand at something else and doing it though. Greatest golfer or dominator of his own sport yes, greatest athlete ever, no way (IMO)!
There is a huge difference between being a scratch golfer and winning on the tour...not to mention winning as much as he has won.

Ask Tiger woods to simply dunk a basketball. Ask Michael Jordan to birdie a hole. Who has a better shot of doing it?

True...my pt was who has dominated their sport for longer and better than Woods? Yes, MJ won 6 titles, but he had teammates...Tiger has 13 majors and 63 tour wins at 32...I think he is now just reaching his prime which means he could end up with 20+ majors and 100+ wins...sorry, but that is ridiculous.

Have you ever seen some of these Pro-Am's? Some of these guys are shooting -6 or -7 under par. If they played 7 days a week like Tiger does, they could compete. Tiger couldn't do that anywhere else but the golf course and maybe the XBOX 360 game!

tiger is not physically able to dunk a ball...mj and anyone who can dunk has a gift of being able to jump...anyone can practice golf and birdie a hole but you cant practice dunking...there is no doubt mj is a better athlete than tiger but he is physically gifted imo.

You can't base this argument on ifs...these guys would never win 1 major, let alone 13.

I thought that was really your point and that was why i 1st mentioned Federer. If you look at what he has done in Tennis, it is very comparable. It is also a game without teammates!

True, a lot of basketball skill is "born with" talent whereas golf skills are based SOLELY ON PRACTICE AND DISCIPLINE.

Maybe not, but they could make a very good living. Could Tiger do that in the NBA or NHL? No Way!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, I forgot about him, but you're right...I don't know enough about tennis or follow it enough to make an educated statement about his accomplsihments.
