      Ottawa at Buffalo (+100, 6)

After losing back-to-back games to the Washington Capitals, the Senators should be happy to see the Sabres tonight. Ottawa is 7-2 in its last nine meetings with Buffalo including two victories in three matchups with the Sabres already this season.

Buffalo is on a four-game winless streak after a shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in outdoor game on Saturday.

      Pick: Senators –110

Philadelphia at New Jersey (-146, 5)

The Flyers and Devils have combined for five or more goals in each of their three meetings this season. New Jersey has won all three games while scoring at least four goals in every game.

The two teams have combined for five or more goals in seven of their last 10 matchups. During that span, oddsmakers set a five-goal total four times, with the over cashing three times and one game ending in a push.

      Pick: Over 5

      Carolina at Atlanta (-123, 6)

The Thrashers are gunning for a home-and-home series sweep of the Hurricanes tonight. Atlanta edged the Canes 5-4 in overtime on Wednesday, cashing in as +137 underdogs.

The Thrashers have won six of their last eight games against Carolina including two straight wins over their division rival.

Atlanta sniper Ilya Kovalchuk has been red-hot lately, recording 10 points in his last four games.

      Pick: Thrashers -123

-Jassen Cullimore, Panthers, scored 1:37 into overtime to give Florida a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders.

        LUCKY 13

Vancouver pushed its home unbeaten streak to 13 games after posting a 3-0 victory over the New York Rangers on Thursday night. The Canucks have allowed just 11 goals at home since Nov. 9.

        QUICK STRIKES

Minnesota scored on three of its first four shots and four of eight en route to a 6-3 win over Dallas on Thursday night. ... Pittsburgh scored three goals in 48 seconds early in the third period to put away Toronto 6-2.

        GREAT GOALIES

Roberto Luongo recorded his sixth shutout of the season after stopping all 28 shots he faced in Thursday night's 3-0 win over the New York Rangers. ... Boston's Tim Thomas made 31 saves for his first shutout of the season, 2-0 over Washington. ... Pittsburgh's Ty Conklin is 6-0 as a starter since being called up from the minors following Marc-Andre Fleury's ankle injury after making 33 saves in a 6-2 rout of Toronto.

        SIX PACKS

Nashville has beaten Edmonton six straight times following its 6-3 victory on Thursday night. ... Tampa Bay matched a season high with its third six-game winless streak of the season (0-5-1) after a 6-3 loss at Montreal. The Lightning also went 0-5-1 from Oct. 27 to Nov. 5, and again from Nov. 19-29.

        MAKING THEM COUNT

Florida defenseman Jassen Cullimore scored his first goal of the season Thursday night, the overtime winner in a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders. It was his 22nd career goal in 668 games, and his seventh game-winner.

        PAD-GATE

New York Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro returned after missing three games with a sprained left knee, but may have played with illegal pads during Thursday night's game against Florida. DiPietro came out for warmups and played the first period in clean, white leg pads. However, for the second and third periods, he switched back to his old orange, blue and white pads without an explanation. A goalie's equipment must be inspected and approved by the NHL before it can be used in a game. Using illegal or uninspected equipment results in an automatic two-game suspension for the player, a $25,000 fine for his team, and $1,000 for the team's equipment manager.

        AVALANCHE OF INJURIES

Colorado forward Ryan Smyth has a broken right ankle and will miss up to eight weeks, the latest blow to a team that already lost captain Joe Sakic to injury. Smyth was hurt during Colorado's 4-3 overtime loss at Phoenix on Monday. Defenseman Kurt Sauer (neck) and center Tyler Arnason (wrist) are also on injured reserve.

        GOOD NEWS

Teppo Numminen's surgically repaired heart is pumping fine, the Buffalo defenseman's latest medical checkup showed. He's not yet been cleared for contact, but has been working out with the team since Dec. 13.

        SPEAKING

''Most terrible game of the season for us. We don't move. We don't shoot the puck. We were sleeping tonight - everybody.'' - Washington's Alexander Ovechkin after a 2-0 loss at Boston on Thursday night.
