How bout OU last year against Boise...no chance to win, they come all the way back, int for a TD with under a minute left and have the cover, only to los eit in the last seconds on a 4th down pass, then take the lead again in OT for a win and blw that and the game....

    KB, F OU!!!!

Game went to OT and the favored team scored a TD in the 1st overtime. First play from scrimmage, the qb throws a pick 6 and I lose by 13 points in OT, catching 12 1/2.

I think that was ASU vs. USC in 96. Best game of my life. I was there.

ASU scored first in OT, than the QB for USC threw up a screwed up screen pass, which was picked off by ASU and ran back for 75 yards. We were jumping up and down. Needless to say we were piss drunk.

That was it, but back then we bet more than we should. My brother and I already counted it as a win..

That was going to be my #1 too!!! I had them for $500 and a $500 parlay with G Tech in the other Final 4 game that night. Two huge bets for me.

#2 was Texas Tech basketball vs someone in the Big 12 tourney a few years ago. They were -4.5 and were up 5 with just a couple seconds. However, they were up like 10 with a minute left. Anyway, Tech guy misses a FT or two and other team comes down to throw up the meaning less three. If it hits the rim, it bounds into the air and the game is over. However, it's just awful enough that it's an airball and a guy under the baket grabs it and lays it in for a meaningless hoop that crushed my biggest bet of that year.
          O..H.........I..O!

MNF some time in 2000, Packers vs Vikes. Had the Vikes. Antonio Freeman catches the ball on his back, and then rolls over, and the ball falls into his hands, he then runs into the endzone. Worst beat ever. Forgot the line, but I know I lost because of that line.

            Saints/ Bucs over (02, 03, 04?)
I chalked it up as a loss because I needed ot for the over and there was only 4 seconds left, and the Saints were returning a kickoff, down by 7. Saints lateral the ball all the way down the field, and end up scoring on a miracle play. John Carney misses the extra point. I lose my bet, Saints lose the lose the game.

The Bills moneyline on MNF earlier this year was the final play of a $20 to win $5000 parlay. It's not as heart breaking because at the end of the day, it's only $20 lost, but come freaking on

What about the Baltimore(-21/2)game this year when the ball hit the goal post and came back on the field and Baltimore loses by 3 in overtime.

I had one like this - a $10/10 teamer for $3500 and I won 9....I couldn't hedge because a few games were in progress at the end of the night, and I had some awful team like new mexico state plus the points....of course they get blown out, and my Dad gave me the old classic "never count on a bad team to win for you".

Here's one from this NBA season: Seattle @ Denver Nuggets on Halloween this year. A buddy of mine called the "Under" his GOY. Total was set at 222 and the score was 101-120 with 1.8 seconds left...Inbound to Delonte West...airball...Mouhamed Sene tips it in as time expires, total bumps to 223, game over.

The opposite of a bad beat?

When you are on the right side of the unlikely finish, and benefit financially, much to the chagrin of the bad beat victims.

The most memorable ( and most important..last day of the betting week) for me was a MNF matchup, which I think was in 1997.
                          ====================
I had Jax -4 over Pittsburgh, and though Jags had led most of the game, could not get over the hump, and missed a FG with 12 minutes to go, leading by two. My chances of winning were vanishing as the Steelers ground out the clock, eating up all but six seconds, setting up for the game-winning FG. Who knew a 12 minute drive would ruin any hope of a cover?

I got into the shower, knowing I had to go to a casino to try to somehow win enough to pay my MAN on Tuesday, when the darndest thing happened.

I heard the crowd going nuts on the TV, so I hurriedly turned off the water, and ran to the adjacent den. Jax had blocked the FG, and returned it 70+ yards for a meaningless TD with no time left, as Bill Cowher nearly came unglued, almost, almost I said, leaving the bench to tackle the returner.

Jax wins by 9, covers, and my book has to wait another week!
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.
