  • P.S. Oregon's loss this week will only hurt ASU in the BCS as well. Don't forget about that!

I know you are a fan and all but ASU hasn't earned anyone's respect outside of the West Coast yet.
We could debate this all night and we would not know who is right until the end of the year.

But, V Tech was leap frogged by ASU earlier this year. Didn't involve a loss that week or respect, i would think, since V-tech has been in the old fucks view for the last 18 years.

Anyone can be leap frogged at anytime, depending on the circumstances. Alot does have to do with respect and prominence, but I think ASU can do it, and I am not the only one, evidently.

HMMM--UCLA beat Northwestern a few years ago by a lot in the SUN bowl if my memory serves right!!

Good point Wayne but is that fair to compare?? If this was the NFL would this statement even come into the conversation..

I think that is when the BCS contract is up. After that it is open for discussion. It has been openly stated several times that the 2 things in the way of a playoff is the Big10 & Pac10. Both refuse to give up the Rose Bowl bids. They have even said that there could be a playoff with all other conferences included except those 2 if they don't change their mind.

Ohio St is the USC of the BIG10. They are the Florida and LSU of the Big10. Like bryce said, it's all about views, fans support, tradition and history. ASU does not own that status, in fact when was the last time they even won the Pac10? The voters have no interest in ASU over OSU and i would be willing to bet on that in a heartbeat!

I don't think that--voters know Dixon was hurt---as well as Carpenter being hurt when they went to Quack territory..I feel OSU losing at home should of been a bigger smack on the Buckeyes than ASU losing to the quackers---and the quackers losing to zona without Dixon

No because they play it on the field. It is human nature when a vote is involved. They will take the team who is there every year over a new kid on the block 10 out of 10 times and it ain't changing now .......

That doesn't matter though bryce. A drop in the polls and a 2nd loss will hurt Oregon's BCS rating, therefore dropping ASU's as well.

Unfortunatley you are probably right and that is a damn shame--how many teams over the years have been slighted because of this--It is like the red headed step child--how in sports can you get slighted because of the tradition or history--I don't think that is right at all---

Well no other sport is decided by a vote so there is nothing to compare it to.

Here is my point Wayne everyone in Columbus was laughing there ass off when Mich lost to APPY--I said what the FK are you thinking---OSU goes there at the end of the season---loses what do they have??? I said this doesn't look good for the Big ten...how does OSU gain any value by beating Mich---today--its better than a loss but do they really gain anything---after Mich lost to App and Ore---WISCO--

A ranked opponent on the road with a Rose Bowl bid on the line in one of the biggest rivalries in CFB??? Are you serious? The voters will reward that.

Also, with ASU not playing this week, their BCS points will not be helped by the Oregon loss. The computer doesn't care about injuries, it cares about rankings (And Oregon will drop), and losses (Another for Oregon). The teams ASU has played and what they do factors in to their overall number. Now, their loss to Oregon doesn't look as "Good" to the computers. That's just how it is.

                            • Illinois winning big today and moving up actually helps Ohio St as well. It all factors in!

                              • Ohio St is also (4-0) against ranked opponents at the time when they played. ASU is currently (1-1) with USC left. Another thing the voters will point to when voting for Ohio St.
