Can't trade them if you don't have any.

Towers is getting paid like half of what cashman is getting. Unreal.

Benito Santiago was the last one I can think off. And he was a little above average.

      Yikes....a Benito Santiago reference.

That is amazing bro.....that you continue to be successful year after year, but with little to no farm to speak of.

        Go Padres!
I'm a West Coaster. Cubs are in. Mets and Phillies will sweep. Padres will lose 2 out of 3 to the Rockies. Milton Bradley and Mike Cameron, that's why.

          Cubs, D-Backs, Phils & Mets

I just think the Phils & Mets will take at least 2 of 3 from their opponent and i'm not sold on SD doing that. I think a WC playoff is very possible though.
          That's what I think too

And even if mets and Phillies win 2 out of 3, and Padres winning 1, then we have a three way ties.

                    My breakdown:

Cubs are in. (3 spots left)
D-Backs are in, they pretty much have to get swept to lose a playoff spot. (2 spots left)
Teams left: Padres, Rockies, Mets, Phils
Rockies are out. They need a sweep to get in.
                    3 teams left, 2 spots.
Padres will win 2 out of the 3. They are in. (1 spot left)
That leaves me between the Phils and Mets for the last spot.
I'm going with the Phillies. The Mets are struggling mightily, losing 10 out thier last 14. In baseball you can' just turn the switch on and off. When your struggling your struggling.

                    1st round playoff matchups:

D-Backs vs. Cubs (Cubs in 4) Othern than Webb, no one scares me in that rotation.

Phillies vs. Padres (Padres in 5) Pitching and defense

Yankees vs. Indians (Yankees in 4) Too much fire power. I don't think CC or Carmona gets the job done here. Yanks are the better team.

Red Sox vs. Angels (Red Sox in 5) Very tough one for me to call. Could go either way. Beckett, Schilling, Daiske vs Lackey, Escobar, Weaver.

                    2nd Round

Padres vs. Cubs (Cubs in 7)

Yankees vs. Red Sox (Yankees in 5) Yanks are destined

                    World Series
Yankees vs Cubs (Yankees in 5) Cubs have to wait yet again.

It didn't take long for the Mets to fall behind 2-0

                        Lets go Marlins!!!

P.S. Clay Buchholz shut down for the year.... Shoulder problems. In my mind, this is not good for the sox... He could have helped out tremendously in the pen for the playoofs

I didn't think he was going to be on the post season roster anyway.
