Who cares if he is happy or not, you are renting him for 2 months. You think Wily Mo is happy playing as little as he is? I don't trust that Drew is going to remain healthy and Dye is a much better insurance policy than Wily Mo.

Dye is a veteran and won't upset the apple cart. I say you take the chance if the cost is low. Are you going to keep Wily Mo around forever as the #4 OF? They will find a way to get him his AB's and keep him fresh.

It's called chemistry. If he comes in and is miserable on the bench, i don't want him.

I know what it is called, but with a contract ending in 2 months, I think he would be fine. He is a solid clubhouse guy (from what I have read, not that I know him personally or hang in the CWS clubhouse). Its not like he is coming with a 3 yr contract and is going to be stuck behind Manny, Coco and Drew.

Do we ever agree on anything?

Exactly ... 2 months. I'm not willing to give up much, if anything for a 2 month player. They have the best record in baseball. Why give up prospects for a guy like Dye to sit the bench or play part time for 2 months. No thanks!

You like NY teams and i'm for Boston. Those people never usually agree on much.

i believe he already voiced his concern about that.....But Dye is a professional and i have always thought he was money in the big spot

The yankees will dump farnsworthless.... I dont care if they dont make any trades...just drop that piece of shit...

OH and Tmac..... Joba Chamberlain pitched for scranton... they moved him to the bullpen because he will be called up soon

1 IP, 3 k's.... most likely he will be a starter next year

              Hughes
              chamberlain.......

I live in Scranton, and the buzz about Chamberlain is definitely gaining momentum....kinda like Hughes while he was here. Fun team to pay attention to, mainly from the pitching side, with Duncan called up.

I remain a White Sox fan, and look for Dye to move....last week he was going to the Dodgers....what happened to that?

Going to the Bronx tomorrow night to see Contreras....anyone else going?

The yankees have the #1 farm system pitching wise... They got studs placed all over that farm... Chamberlain consistently throws 95 mph fast ball that touches 100 mph at points... The main thing is, HE GOT COMMAND unlike farnswothless.. Also, Ian Kennedy moved up with chamberlain as well. He is like a mike mussina type pitcher and has 4 plus pitches.. He might start next year if moose or pettite is not on the team

The Dodgers are making a run at Joe Blanton, with a package of three frontline prospects possibly going from Los Angeles to Oakland.

Blanton makes a lot of sense if they tried and failed to get Jon Garland. The Mets were also interested in Blanton, with Oakland likely asking for Lastings Milledge in return. The A's would surely love to get Matt Kemp from the Dodgers, but that seems unlikely. They could ask for Andy LaRoche, Jonathan Meloan and a starting pitching prospect. They don't have third base open for LaRoche, but they could use him in left field next year

I was just thinking of this as I watched Gamons say he may be available and remember reading in Spring Training that Bean loves Milledge...doubt it would happen but that could make me rough up my suspect!

"Jayson Stark just reported on espnnews that Yankees and Rangers have a deal in place for Gagne.

Only sticking point is money (the yanks have agreed to pay a portion of the bonus clause money in gagne's contract to appease him setting up rivera). Stark said the players agreed upon in the deal are Tyler Clippard, Jeff Marquez, and a C level prospect. Also said the yankees worked hard to get the deal done, knowing the Red Sox and Mets are in the hunt.

He said the deal could be announced by tomorrow morning."

Reported on a CBS sportline forum

Anybody hearing any good rumors? I heard the NYY were very close to getting Gagne, just some money issues, but I see nothing on ESPN or CBS...?
