I bet the Giants agreed to pay to part of his salary next year.

This trade to me is very odd. Don't understand why Pitt would add this relic. Maybe some veteran coaching with young staff? They could have done better imo, but what do I know.

Giants confuse the heck out of me. All those relics and they move one. As a Dodgers fan, I gotta love that Giants front office!

The Pirates are retarded, but if they're not paying all of his salary it's not that bad. I think the Giants needed his veteran leadership. Of all the guys to trade, and I mean all the guys, Roberts, Aurilla, Klesko, Durham, Winn, Visquel, Kline, Sweeney, Molina, Morris is the one I would've kept.

              • The Giants might not have paid any of his contract, in which case the Pirates are just retarded...again

Is there any wonder why the Pirates can't win on a regular basis if they really did pick up all the contract price? Makes one wonder, some teams don't seem to get it...

                      • ATLANTA -- Braves general manager John Schuerholz didn't limit Tuesday's flurry of activity to high-profile transactions. After securing the services of Mark Teixeira, Ron Mahay and Octavio Dotel, he added a talented left-handed reliever to his organization.
In a trade comprised only of left-handed pitchers, Schuerholz sent both Wil Ledezma and Will Startup to the Padres in exchange for Royce Ring. In 15 appearances for San Diego this year, Ring registered 17 strikeouts in 15 innings and posted a 3.60 ERA.

Ring, who was traded by the Mets to the Padres in the offseason, has spent most of the season at Triple-A Portland. In 27 appearances for Portland, he completed 31 2/3 innings, posted a 1.99 ERA and limited opponents to a .188 batting average. In the process, he registered 44 strikeouts and limited left-handed hitters to a .135 batting average.

Ledezma, who was designated for assignment on Sunday, allowed earned runs in six of the 12 relief appearances he made for the Braves. When he was acquired from the Tigers on June 20, there was thought that he'd be better suited in a starter's role.

Startup, who will turn 23 on Saturday, has posted a 2.28 ERA in 41 appearances Triple-A Richmond. Opponents hit .213 against the University of Georgia product.
"The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.

                            • New Gm Dayton Moore who signed Gil Meche against all the haters has produced as a #1 for us. He also signed Soria,Bannister, and signed Dotell to produce this trade for Davies. Moore was raised up in the Braves organization and knows how important pitching is. Davie has had his struggles, but he is young and Dayton must see something in his delivery that can be fixed. This is great time to be a Royals fan because we are finally making positive moves no matter if this trade is a flop or not we are def. moving forward!
