I really thought Derek Fisher would have been a nice pickup!

It probably dawned on him that playing in Minnesota was gonna be shitty again, and to have the chance to play with two superstars in the East for a team with a lot of history would be fun.

That's the kind of player that I have in mind. Even like an Eric Snow would work.

He's terrible, but I great role player, if you need someone to bring the ball up and stand there.

Wayne, this is the reported trade, so they must still have Telfair, and WOW, they'd still have Rondo

Garnett for Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair and Theo Ratliff (and his expiring contract).

I think that Boston told Telfair to clean out his locker because he wouldn't be here next year but he is still under contract with them. That must be it. They love Rondo, i know that much. If we can keep him and give Telfair instead ... WOW!

Look out cuz this Rondo kid was VERY fun to watch late last season. They would be a VERY athletic group with him at point!

Huge, and Gerald Green is a bust anyway.

The Red Sox are still working on getting Jermaine Dye from the White Sox for Wily Mo Pena and a pitching prospect.
The prospect wouldn't by Clay Buchholz or Jon Lester, leaving Michael Bowden and Justin Masterson as the top possibilities, unless the White Sox really like Craig Hansen. A source told the Boston Globe that the chances of a deal happening were "pretty good."

                            from the boston herald:

Sources saying Garnett deal is done

Sources this morning are confirming that the Celtics’ deal for Kevin Garnett is essentially completed.

One involved source said the final package will have the Celts sending Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff and a No. 1 pick to Minnesota to acquire Garnett.

Further word is that the Celts and Garnett have reached an agreement in principle on a contract extension. You may recall a report here that Danny Ainge would not do the deal without such a guarantee of Garnett’s presence, and it appears now that the perennial All-Star is willing to forego the opt-out in his current deal for next summer and cast his lot with Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and the Celtics.

i like the deal. immediate contenders in the east, and these young guys are too unpredictable. jefferson seems like he will be a star, and gerald greens talent is off the charts, but who knows how they will develop (especially under doc).

That is alot to give up but you have to do it to get a guy like KG. Garnett probably told KG about the history of "Big Men" in Boston. Gomes and a no. 1 pick are even more than i thought but keeping Rondo in the end is the key.

                                HOLY FUCK, PLEASE BE TRUE!
