I personally don't look at whether Barry did anything wrong, it's baseballs fault and bud selig's. Why do I think it’s Bud's and baseballs fault. Well please ask yourself why they've never had a drug testing in place, it was one of the hiccups between the commissioner and Donald Fehr, in which during the strike, they were arguing whether or not the players need to be tested.

So my argument with this is, why could our professional baseball league have a NO testing policy in place. Baseball needed Sosa, Big Mac, Bonds to make a come back and I think we’ve witness the true under the table reason why this issue now is in the prime spotlight.

Why hasn’t anyone questioned Bud Selig’s reasoning why he accepted that option?

Please respond, I am willing to see how you can blame 100% on Barry and yet no one blames Bud, in which my opinion is at fault….

I can’t wait to see Barry Bond’s break the record, cuz I will laugh at how pissed people get and never blame the commissioner.

I happen to hear some stats on him and his head size increased 2 inches and his chest(which is from lifting obviously) increased from 48 inches to 55. I think his neck gained significant size as well. Dont get me wrong I believe hitting is more in eye hand coordination than anything, and I think he is deserving of the HR title. Just quoting what I read and I wonder how your head size can increase that much without HGH. Eagle

MLB is not going to let the 1 person who can break the HR record and draw rating and revenue for the sport, go to jail and be the poster child for steroid use.
When I was trying out for the Steelers back in the 70's, the only chance for any of us free agents to make the team, was to take steroids , to get faster and stronger and become equal or better than the guys we were trying to beat out.
My roomate in College became impotent and would piss blood all the time. He got thrown off the Football team because he lost respect for everyone but himself. He would do sit ups with 2- 100 lb weights on his stomach 5- 10 times a day and during the middle of the night.
He ended up moving to Ca. and became a bodyguard for Chuck Norris. And eventually died and unexpeted death.

I can tell you many of stories about some of the Steelers I know and that died. Mike Webster being the most recent.
Barry will probably go down in history for breaking the HR record, but that doesn't make him the greatest MLB ever He's not even close, and never will.
Some one will come along and break his record and he will be just another guy on the leader board, but with a cloud of doubt that will forever be in the reporters who write stries about him. Just Watch ESPN and you will see, that 80% of those reporters keep talking Him in the same sentence with steroids.

i don't blame barry for taking steroids. i would have done the same thing if i was in baseball in the late 90's early 2000's.

lets see, at the time he started taking them--- taking steroids isn't banned by my sport, and not tested for by my sport. they are widely used by all my peers, and is essentially common practice in the game. oh, and btw, if i take them, i will become one of the greatest to ever play the sport, break records, and make over $100 million doing it all. did i mention they weren't banned or tested for?????

i would have done the same exact thing, and most people who say they wouldn't should get off their high horse.

no offense dude, but you're a moron...sorry to be so blunt with you...Barry has never tested positive for steroids or any other substance banned by MLB. Until he does give him the credit he deserves because he is the best baseball player that most of us on this site have ever seen and one can make a very strong argument that he is the BEST EVER!!! He hits pitches out of the stadium that GREAT hitters would be likely to roll to an infielder. Tune in to SportsCenter tonight to see where the pitch was that he hit out for his 1st HR tonight. Go Barry, Go and I can't wait to see him hit 756. BTW, I'm from Pittsburgh and don't hate Barry like close-minded Pirate fans who think he wronged the Pirates by leaving for SF. If you were offered more money to go work for a better company you would be a fool not too. And since money isn't everything, he also wanted to go play where his godfather and father played the majority of their careers. Bonds already said that Aaron's record doesn't mean as much to him as it did to break Willie May's mark of 660. I don't care if Selig is there when Barry breaks Aaron's record and honestly hope that he retires the day after he does it.

First RDOG55, no offsense from here either. Moron? Let's see. We have Barry playing in Pittsburg, then we have Barry playing in San Francisco. I don't think many feel he was on steorids when he was a Pirate. At least I don't. But as a Giant, with BALCO just down the street aways, hard to say he wasen't on steriods then for the following reasons.

I'll go look this up again if I have to, but I do recall Barrys best "numbers" in Pittsburg, were about the same as his worst "numbers" in San Francisco. Take the number of Home Runs he averaged each year in Pittsburg and use those non-steroid figures as his average Home Runs per year in San Francisco and those figures are a long way from the best ever.

Greg Anderson is in jail because he dosen't want to answer any questions about when he was Barry's Personal Trainer in San Francisco. This has nothing to do with naming sources. If Greg Anderson could say under oath that he has no knowledge of Barry taking steroids, what would his reason be for refusing to answer those questions. He would have done so a long time ago. However, because he does have knowledge of Barry using steroids, anwsering questions about this, under oath, would hurt his friend and he dosen't want the truth to come out.

Someone said steroids will not increase the size of your head/face. I was on Predisone for too long, at too high a dose and my face did start to swell. That's when I told my doctor I'm not taking anymore Predisone and my face went back to normal. Look at Barrys rookie baseball card and then look at his current picture. Also, another effect of taking steroids is the loss of hair. Why do you think Barry keeps his head shaved. Because he has bald areas that would stand out if mixed in with areas of hair.

Forgetting the steroids for a minute, what should happen to someone who does not report $80,000 of income on his IRS forms. That is a Felony. Think of all the times you have read about someone charged with a Felony and their employer said He/she was put on Administrative Leave with Pay. That's what Selig needs to do if/when Bonds is indited.

Everything I have read indicates Barry got his steroids from guys in California. So Chuckie you are telling me that the guys you bought the steroids from in Pittsburgh moved to California.
