If Kragthorpe does go to UL, then UL is getting the best coach in the deal.

What he has accomplished so far with the "talent" he has had to work with is nothing short of spectacular.

QB Matt Simms has withdrawn his oral commitment to Louisville just hours after HC Bobby Petrino left the school. "I’m not going to Louisville," said Simms, the son of former Giants quarterback Phil and brother of current Tampa Bay QB Chris Simms. "As far as my recruiting goes, I’m pretty much back to square one." The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Simms completed his high school career at Giants Stadium last month by leading Don Bosco to a 41-0 victory over St. Peter's Prep. He threw for more than 60 touchdowns and 6,000 yards in three years as the starter for Don Bosco.
As an alumnus of both Don Bosco Prep and Rutgers you can imagine where I would like to see young Matthew end up.

That being said... all of you Louisville backers who are saying you would rather have Kragthorpe than Bobby OliveGarden are dripping with sour grapes.

Petrino is one of the top offensive minds and developers of young QBs in the country. I can understand you all becoming tired of his constant flirtations with other open HC positions, but claiming Louisville is better off as a program now that he's been replaced is straight nonsense... unless of course he was replaced by June Jones.

Chris Petersen would've been a much better choice than Kragthorpe as well.

I agree Jim and Peterson would have been a perfect fit. Unlike others, i'm not sold on Kragthorpe yet by any means!

Chris Petersen is the next Urban Meyer... WRITE THAT DOWN!!!

Any big program with a HC opening that doesn't throw a boatload of cash at this guy will be kicking themselves for years.

Kragthorpe turned down $1M from Parcells to be QB coach a year ago. Seems Parcells is sold on the guy.

Tulsa had lost 21 of 22 when Kragthorpe took over. I think he went 29-21, including the first two years with the previous coaches players.

Louisville is in good hands, mark my words.

Petersen fits the Louisville mold bettewr than Kragthorpe IMO, but don't kid your self about Kraigthorpe.....

Tulsa U, the smallest Div I school with a FootBall team, has no budget, they get the OK, and OSU, and Ark, And Tx rejects....Not the Blue Chippers....

Kraigthorpe molded this team, and he can do it else where also.....He's a class act....look at his background in coaching, not too shabby....he is gonna surprise some people....also a disciplinarian....class act IMO----kapt

Kaptain, Who was the Tulsa coach before Krag? I'm having a brain freeze but i was a much bigger fan of his. It may have been 3 coaches ago but he went on to a bigger school i think.

Steve Burns , who won 6 games in 3 years, and is out of coaching right now.

The previous, Dave Rader, is the OC at Alabama.
