No one ever heard of Petrino till he got to Louisville. I trust Tom Jurich's judgement cause he has made 2 good hires in football.

Time will tell if Kragthorpe can get it done. I was pissed at the way Petrino left, but there is no doubt that i didnt want him to go. But it will be nice at the end of the season not having to worry with who is courting Bobby every year.

                Dec. 2, 2002

Tulsa, Okla. - Keith Burns announced his resignation as The University of Tulsa's head football coach today.

Burns compiled an overall 7-28 record in his three seasons with the Golden Hurricane. In his first season, Tulsa posted the school's most wins in eight years with a 5-7 mark in the 2000 campaign. His last two teams registered an overall 2-21 record.

"The bottom line is that we didn't win enough games," said Burns. "To have the opportunity to be a head coach on the Division I-A level was a dream of mine. Only 116 other coaches had the opportunity to do that. I've been extremely blessed and very fortunate."

Burns became the school's 25th head football coach on December 7, 1999.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

Keith Burns coached at Tulsa from 2000-2002. His record was 7-28 in 3 seasons. He is currently the special teams coach at San Jose State.

Dave Rader was the coach from 1988-1999. He was the offensive coordinator for Alabama the past few years. He was 49-80-1 in 12 seasons at Tulsa.

A few quotes from Kragthorpe's press conference:

"I'm a destination kind of guy."

"I don't want to be the kind of coach that moves around all the time."

"I could see spending my career here."

Those comments didn't feel nearly as hollow when I heard them the first time 4 years ago. Enjoy him, Louisville fans, you got a good football coach.
