Kaptains "CFB Bowls" Thread
Tuesday Dec 19th. 7:00 PM Central, Poinsetta Bowl at SD California......
N Ill from the MAC vs TCU from the Mountain West....
Line is TCU -12 and 47.......
N Ill is 7-5 and TCU is 10-2........
N Ill loast to the following
Ohio St 12-35
Ohio U 23-35
W Mich 14-16
Iowa 14-24
Toledo 13-17.......they beat teams like
Buffalo 31-15
Ind St 48-14
Ball St 40-28
Miami Oh 28-25
Temple 43-21
Cent Mi 31-10
E Mich 27-0..........
as you can see when they play formidable opponents, they can't score......thus, they lose the game.....when playing weaker teams, they manage to run up some points, thus making their avg pts per game deceiving.....
Now lets Look at the TCU Horned Frogs....
They lost to
BYU 17-31
Utah 7-20...at UTAH
and beat the following teams
Baylor 17-7 first game of season
UC Davis 46-13...weak opponent
Texas Tech 12-3....thats right, held the Raiders to 3 points
Army 31-7
Wyoming 26-3---held Wyo to just 3
UNLV 25-10---UNLV only got 10
New Mexico 27-21---N Mex is a scoring machine, held them to 21
SD St 52-0---weakest opponent of year
Colo St 45-14.......
Air Force 38-14
They have the ability to score, and have a tough defense.......
N Ill, when they get behind, can't catch up, cause they are one dimensional....One running back....key on him, foirce em to throw.....
N Ill vs Mountain West are 3-4
TCU vs MAC are 2-0
N ILL Coach Novak is 61-65 at N Ill
TCU Coach Patterson is 53-20 at TCU....
TCU ranked 25th in the Country, and I still don't believe oddsmakers give em credit for being as good as they really are......
I see TCU winning 34-13.........thus my first bowl game with analysis is...........
