TMAC, I have a question for you.

A few years ago TO stomped on the Cowboys Star at mid-field. Did you object to him doing it? Be honest. You were probably pissed.

That's just it jeff. They have nothing to be cocky about. How many other teams who are .500 and have won nothing do that? None! They do that shit all the time. They are like the Oakland Raiders. They think they are tough guys but in reality they are just football players making bad decision after bad decision. Why wouldn't one guy who is on that team tell them not to do the Logo thing? Not one smart guy on that team?

Yeah I was pissed.. But that was just TO being TO.. He is cocky and he has the skills to back it up ON the field.. And in years past (other than this season of course) Miami is just cocky and they have the skills on the field to back it up..

You guys are still living in the past when Miami really had issues, but it hasn't been that way in a while. I wasn't a part of BC when the Clemson/SC brawl happened, and I know there was a portion of that fight that was a lot worse than this one, but I will almost guarantee that this much was not made of that brawl. A good portion of this haterade is due to the fact that it's Miami.

PS For those of you don't know, Miami is a really good school and tough to get into so claiming people that go there are idiots is wrong.
Hate to say it but your 100% wrong on that.

If you remember...that was one week after the Detroit/Indiana brawl and there was a HUGE deal made out of that.

Both teams forfitted bowl games and there were multiple game suspensions carrying over to the next year. That was also Lou Holtz's last game, and you KNOW he didn't want to go out that way, but that's the kind of coach he is.

FIU has done the right thing.

Miami is following their leader....in this case their president who is so mind numbing clueless that i"m surprised anything was done.

Mike and Mike made her look like what she and that university is......a joke.

Where is Butch Davis when you need him?

Tell me how the radio guy gets fired for his comments but the guy actually trying to hurt others in a brawl gets a one game suspension vs Duke??

That shows you how fucked up that University is right now!

I don't think stomping on a logo is the end of the world...but to hear the Prez of the school explain it off is comical.

FSU has done it in Miami, after the won...I hate it but I don't think it classifies a team as a bunch of thugs...the whole body of work does.

We have a generation gap here. I played hockey at a high competitive level into my 30s. I always let my playing ability talk shit. The bottom line is the score at the end of the game. Talking shit before, during or after is cheap.

Its not just the "one bad incident" It's everything that goes along with it.

They have not done one thing RIGHT IMO after this latest incident yet.

There should have been criminal charges brought against two of those players on Miami at least.....and they aren't even kicked off the team.

What kind of example does that set?

How bout Coker using FIU players "wanting to be on our side" as the reason FIU started the fight instead of taking the blame as well.

How bout the prez of Miami telling Mike and Mike in the Morning one thing about looking at the tape of the incident to address the people involved, but yet the day before in her news conference saying the exact OPPOSITE???

It all adds up. This is just many reasons why Miami is on a serious downswing and won't change until some major changes are made.

Here is another post that i just saw that a person in one of the groups on myspace that im on.. Let it fly HATERS im sure ya will.. Dont know how true it is but read away..

Please read the top 4-5 entries in this blog if you really want to know the truth beyond the hype. http://allcanes.com/blog

The Miami FIU brawl was bad enough on its own, but ESPN did alotr of editing to make it look even worse. Here is an excerpt from the aforementioned blog

"A five minute brawl, my a**. Maybe if you didn't watch the game and only feast on ESPN's looped footage of the tussle. Click here. Watch the footage. Do the math.

Miami and FIU get into it :06 into the clip and the last push occurs at the :57 mark. From that point until the 1:21 point, players are ushered back to the sidelines. Both teams were back on their respective sidelines in less than 90 seconds.

Like you, the majority of college football fans didn't see this live. It was on PPV and a meaningless game. No one tuned in and all are relying on 'responsible' journalism to inform them how it all shook down. Instead of the truth, they're seeing a video edit which is slanted against the Canes.

ESPN also took commentator Lamar Thomas' rant out of context. Everything Thomas said on live TV about the brawl was AFTER the teams were separated. ESPN's loop of the fight has Thomas' comments OVER the footage, making it sound as if he was endorsing it as it happened.

I'm sure your overplayed, edited version had NOTHING to do with the public outcry which eventually cost Thomas his job. I guarantee 95% of those who complained to CSS didn't see the game. The only saw the ESPN version.

On top of all that, now you're reporting that the teams scrapped it out for five minutes. That's almost two full rounds of a heavyweight bout. Miami fans know that's not the case, but you and ESPN force-fed the masses nothing but a doctored truth these past three days. That's garbage."

i agree with you at that....you guys are probably more old school (there is nothing wrong with that) just giving my opinion....i think talking crap is a part of sports these days.
