For Tigers to get in someone else will have to beat the Yankees to pave the way;I give Detroit practically no chance of defeating Yankees.

to me the yankees have a lot of pitching problems with old guys like mussina, rj, not exactly up to par just check there recent starts. Wang is reliable but the 4th starter with wright or lidle neither is consistent or proven. As for the Mets Pedro is a big concern I'd keep a close eye on him he's had some awful early innings this year. The others El duque, maine and glavine been very good lately. Then again if Traschel pitches game 4 who knows, maybe he'll keep gettin a ton of run support.

You just go look at that lineup that started tonight for the Yanks and tell me how the Tigers have a prayer.
Yanks handled them pretty easily during the regular season, and in some of those games, some of Yankee star players like Sheffield and Matsui(maybe more) were injured.
I would love to see Yanks lose to the Tigers if they met (assuming of course I don't bet the Yanks), but I think for now it is really David vs. Goliath with a different outcome.

I just happen to agree with Savage here.....I wish I did not have to, but I think that team is loaded with seasoned veterans......Just do not think they stumble this time.....

Tony-that lineup with no one injured is mind blowing.
Even if their starting pitching is so-so, I don't think any pitching staff of any other team can contain them enough to win more than a game or two.

Well Detroit Could Not Take Care Of Business Against The Yanks This Year With There Pitching And They Are Still Choking Lucky They Play Kc 6 Out Of 9 Games To Close Out The Season

I said it from the beginning of the season, and I still say it, Tigers and Cards, with Tigers taking it all----kapt---IMO

they're both still in it, and their chances for a turnaround, and start playing the way they used to, and are capable of, are in my mind good........

BaseBall is a game of streaks..........Tigers and Cards on Bad one now, they start a good one towards the end, and they'll be tough........

Twins may be peaking too soon right now.......Bad streak due to happen..........

Mets could surprise us all......... granted: Yanks are team to beat, but I believe if Tigers get heads out of their asse, they can hang with anyone........kapt

As stated, just check out that starting lineup for Yanks tonight and put it against that of Tigers, and tell me which you like better(objectively).
ps And don't forget it is not like Yanks haven't proven themselves already against Detroit this year with less than their best lineup.

blah blah blah Yanks have been winnin almost 100 a year for 6 years and havent won shit and same can be said for the Cardinals.......that was regular season Tin so this is diff and lets see the Yanks win as many games as the Tigers playin 60 games this year vs Tribe, Twins and WSox.......Central is best division not even close

Yanks fattened up with 40 vs Tampa and Bmore so dont tell me we get KC for a few to end the season...the sched is what it is

Ill take my pitching vs your offense any day of the week

                              PEACE
