It really depends on your strategy but I do feel more comfortable buying the half point. I hate getting backdoored whether it is on a $100 bet or a $500 bet. However one thing I am sure about is that buying the half point doesn't make you a pussy.

How come guys never post their loses with they buy?

You won yesterday. In the long run you'll lose. That is a FACT! Let's get real. At -140 a bettor has to win more than 58.3% to BREAK-EVEN. Most guys can't win @ -110 52.4% let alone 58%

I'm not arguing. For Christ Sakes, I'm stating FACTS. It's a FACT in the long run a sport bettor will lose if they buy the hook.

I asked a fair question. How come no one ever posts a loss with the buy?

I will continue to post my philosophy because buying points is a bad practice. While you might disagree it might aide others. Others who don't let their distaste interfere with their rational judgement.

FYI, I received numerous emails and instant messages as well as replies in my thread offering thanks for the insight on point buying. It's your problem not mine that you have issues with me or the insight.

No one is forcing you or anyone to heed my opinion.

Hell ,I guess I've been Lucky Frank . I will start tracking MY buying of Hooks this year and see what I come up with ... right now I am + 5.2 units ! Maybe subconsicously I lay off the ones that wouldn't help any way . If that's what your stats tell you I'm not arguing with that .... but for me it seems to help more often then not . I'll track it and report back ....
As for Insurance , I never bitch about premiums if I have to file numerous claims !

Buying the hook is bad business boys, very bad........I lost on Carolina yesterday -8' on some BS yet I will never buy any points......Frank is stating the facts....not his opinion....you can not argue with numbers

Sure it may have saved ya a time or two and thats why you always remember it but over time its a huge mistake
