If the Yankee were down 0-4 or maybe 1-3 in this series, would those guys be playing? I say yes.
No one said he was not managing the rightr way;I say the circumstances in this cas dictate who and who is not playing today.

Posada would not be playing and maybe not Damon as well. He didn't play Damon in May in the last game of a three game set in Boston either. He is doing what any manager who won 4 straight in a five game series against their arch rivals would do, regardless of whether it was the Red Sox or the Royals.

We agree to disagree...Torre would do this in the fifth game of a five game series, where he has won the first four and two of the games have gone until 1am and the last game is an afternoon game. Doesn't matter if it is the Red Sox, White Sox, Blue Sox or the Yomuri Giants.....

Savage, perhaps he wanted to give him a day off against a tough lefty. 'Now that the game is winnable'? You mean it wasn't winnable at 0-0? Your theory makes no sense.... Maybe he just gave him some time off against Wells, and now that Wells is out, he put him in.

I think you are being a bit sensitive for thinking that Torre is trying to rub your noses in it with a weak line-up. This is the same Joe Torre that got his team to not only sit in the dugout but to stand on the top step and applaud the Sox in the opening game of the 2005 season while the SOx got their rings. Torre is a class act and is managing this game as he would against anyone that he has just taken 4 games aginst.....

it's a moot point...what I disagreed with was your comment that Torre would not do this against the KC Royals...and my point was he would do it against any team that he took the first four from, whether it was KC or anyone...that's all....
