In a short series anything can happen. I think the teams to beat in the AL playoffs are the Tigers and Yanks. The Mets took the season series from the Yanks. With their pitching the Tigers will be tough. With their huge lead the Tigers should go into the playoffs with rested starters.

If Lariano returns the Twins will be the WC facing the Tigers in the opening round.

Although, their pitching has struggled this season you can't count out the Cards. I still think they are one of MLB top 8 teams. They'll get hot before the end of the season.

that is a little harsh.....I would not be beating my chest so proudly either......the way you have spent and failed is not something i would be proud of either.......I think the yanks have a great shot to win it.....i hope not.....but i would not think that is an accomplisment at $220 million payroll...JMHO>

No, and I think my team has major issues, but in a short series, you never know. I would throw the Cards in the mix. Struggling a bit right now, but I would expect them to turn it around.

Their lineup isn't the problem. It's their starting pitching.

tHE YANKS clearly are the best team in the division now. RED SOXs pitching is a dissapointment as are most teams. But there simply isnt enough quality arms in the rotation to win the number of games they will need to make the playoffs. BECKETT maybe a bust. Schilling is in the twilight f his career and isnt dominate. The rest are quetion marks that dot get the job done.
