  • Congrats Wanye Your Pats Have Signed The Steal Of The NFL Draft!!

Chad Jackson!! Dude went to the same high school that i graduated from Hoover High School.. We are the 4 time defending state champions going for 5 straight this season.. Chad will be a starter this season and come in and help ya instantly!! Once again I say congrats on getting the biggest steal of this past years NFL Draft!!

New England reached agreements Saturday with second-round draft pick Chad Jackson and sixth-round choice Jeremy Mincey, leaving the Patriots with three unsigned draft choices as training camp approaches.

Getting Jackson's deal done before the start of camp was crucial. Considered a potential first-round pick and a likely starter for the Patriots, Jackson was considered a steal with the 36th pick in the draft. The 21-year-old Jackson caught 88 passes last season for Florida and wowed scouts with his times at the Indianapolis combine.

Jackson agreed to a four-year deal. Financial terms were not available.

Jackson is expected to join Deion Branch in the starting lineup at wide receiver, but there is some question about whether Branch will be a holdout.

Mincey, 22, agreed to a three-year deal. He is the first of the Patriots' seven draft choices signings to get a contract that wasn't a four-year deal. Financial terms also were not available.

Mincey, a linebacker, played 24 games for Florida in the past two seasons. He had five sacks and one interception in those games.

Everyone up here was stoked to get Jackson. I think it could turn out to be a steal. People think i'm just being a "Homer" but the Pats are Stacked. Jackson should be a nice fit across from Branch. They have 3 great TE's, and another draft pick everyone is excited to see in Maroney out of the U of Minnesota to back up Dillon and get him some rest. This team should be right there in the end!

I agree with ya on every word you just said in that post.. Dude Jackson is a fucking stud... He was a major reason that Hoover was as good as they were when he was there.. Hoover has won 4 state titles in a row and 7 of the past 8 titles.. I was hoping my Cowboys would pick him up but for some reason they always go Defense in the draft.. Congrats to your team for picking him up.. U will grow to love him take it from someone who knows him personally

Have to disagree here...UF WRs are like Penn State RBs (except LJ)...they are great in college, but suck in the pros, and I don't see any difference with CJ.

I have to disagree with you too. Most of those UF receivers who didn't fair well were very small (under 6 feet) and Chad is 6'1 and it looks like, full of talent!

True, but I think size is overrated when it come to WRs (see Steve Smith)...it's obviously a lot easier to play WR in college than in the pros because speed is much more important in college, and that's why I think UF WRs thrived under Spurrier's system...in the pros though, EVERYONE runs 4.4.

P.S. C'mon Wayne, you should know this considering you have one of the most underrated receivers on the Pats in Branch who is also short as hell, but is still a stud.
