The Tigers are losing to an upper echelon team once again, which will make them a combined 3-11 against NY, Boston and Chicago.
For some to call them the team to beat I think is really being optimistic unless of course you are referring to the have not teams that they have cleaned up on.
The current odds have them at 4 1/2 to 1 to win the WS while Red Sox and White Sox are at 5-1.
Some say that the reason they have such a poor record againt the good teams is that they caught them when they were playing poorly.
Well, if that is true, the opposite is true now. Tigers have been playing well and the White Sox awful;yet look at the score tonight.
As Wayne stated, this team may be good, but they are starting to remind me of the Seattle team of a few years ago which won 112 games and went out with a wimper in the first round.
If they can't win at least one of the next two against White sox and convincingly, then as far as I am concerned they are pretenders and should be rated at about 7-1 to win WS.
