Time will tell. I think she has enough support within the party that this could happen and I don't necessarily agree that she was a bad thing for the ticket. McCain needed new blood, someone young and energetic to energize the party and get away from the stigma that McCain carries as being a 'Bush Boy'. I think she distanced people away from McCain that were probably not going to vote for him anyway.

I am by no means a political expert, but I think McCain missed the boat by not attacking Obama for his past relationships, specifically with Rev Wirght. McCain was real soft on this and this guy played an important part in Obama's life and that should have been exploited. This was an issue 4 or 5 months ago and only n the last 3 weeks did he release a commercial on it and never hammered away at it in a debate. Too little wayyyyyyyy too late.

I could be wrong also, it might just be my personal perception, but I think Palin won't ever run, she'll go back to Alaska. If McCain would've hammered away at that stuff, in my opinion nonsense, he would've been running a very negative campaign, not addressing the real issues, that's why he didn't do that. You may be right, maybe if kept pounding that stuff, it may have sunk in, but this wasn't the year IMO, people wanted answers, not bashing. Obama didn't bash McCain, his supporters did, but he didn't, and I think that came across better.
