STREAKING AND SLUMPING STARTERS
STREAKING
James Paxton, New York Yankees (15-6, 3.73 ERA, $358): This is the James Paxton the Yankees were hoping they were getting when they traded for the “Big Maple” this past offseason. Paxton has given up just one earned run over four starts this September. That equates to a 0.36 ERA to go along with a 0.69 WHIP and he’s limiting opponents to a .139 batting average over that span.
Paxton will be the likely candidate to pitch Game 1 of the ALDS for the Yankees, so this will be his final tune up before the postseason. Maybe that means he doesn’t go as deep into tonight’s matchup in Texas against the Rangers. Either way, the Bronx Bombers are big -270 road faves with a total of 10.5.
SLUMPING
Antonio Senzatela, Colorado Rockies (10-11, 6.90 ERA, $385): For Rockies starters, 2019 can’t end soon enough. And Senzatela is no exception. The right-hander was sent down to AAA Albuquerque in July to re-find his game, but that hasn’t happened.
Senzatela has just one quality start in six games since getting called back up, and has been lit up for a 9.12 ERA and a 1.91 WHIP over that stretch. To make matters worse, he must face the streaking Brewers in his final start of the season. The Rockies are +145 home dogs with a total of 13.

KICKING THE CUBS WHEN THEY'RE DOWN
The Cardinals are at the top of the NL Central standings but at just one game ahead of the Brewers, they need to keep winning if they want to avoid having to put their season on the line in a one-game playoff. Luckily for them they get to host a Chicago Cubs team that has been poor on the road all season and apparently decided to just stop playing about ten days ago.
Chicago has lost nine games in a row and will have to face right-hander Dakota Hudson who has been red-hot for the Cardinals. Over Hudson's last nine starts the Cardinals are 8-1 and Hudson has recorded a 2.24 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP. The Cards are 5-1 at home against the Cubs this season and are -240 faves tonight.
MINNESOTA MASHERS
Not only did the Minnesota Twins smash the MLB record for most homeruns in a season but they remarkably did most of their damage on the road. In away games the Twins plated 6.19 runs per game with an OPS of .848. Today, the Twins are on the road against the Kansas City Royals and starter Eric Skoglund (0-2, 7.50 ERA).
Minnesota will have Jose Berrios on the mound. Given that Berrios has a 6.15 ERA with a 1.54 WHIP in nine starts since August the Over 10 is an intriguing play.
CUETO'S COMEBACK
Johnny Cueto will make just his fourth start after recovering from surgery on a ligament tear in the his throwing elbow. He had two scorless outings against the Pirates and Marlins before getting dinged for four runs in four innings versus the Braves last Saturday.
He'll have a tough task against the Los Angeles Dodgers today but the Dodgers are batting an unimpressive .243 this month. With Walker Buehler (13-4, 3.25 ERA) on the hill for the Dodgers against a Giants lineup that has the third-lowest OPS in the majors, consider the Under 7.5
