      — Pittsburgh Steelers 10.5, under -$116

      Quotes of the Day

“The funny thing was that when it was called the D-League, I felt like a lot of people didn’t understand that the ‘D’ stood for development. They’d think of a D-grade in school, so it sort of did the talent level a disservice. In reality, the talent is incredible in this league. I think I’ve now coached six McDonald’s All-Americans at this level.”
Northern Arizona Suns head coach Cody Toppert

      Wednesday’s quiz

What famous broadcaster was once radio announcer for the ABA’s Spirits of St Louis?

      Tuesday’s quiz
Giants’ P Jeff Samardzija was a WR in college at Notre Dame.

      Wednesday’s List of 13: Mid-week musings…….

      13) Kentucky Expo recently had an autograph session with members of the old Kentucky Colonels of the ABA, a team that got screwed over bigtime when the ABA folded in 1976.

The Colonels were awesome; their last five years in the ABA, they went 281-139, winning the ’75 (2nd-to-last) ABA title. Hubie Brown coached the Colonels their last two seasons; they had players like Dan Issel, Artis Gilmore, Louie Dampier, Maurice Lucas.

      12) When the ABA folded, the Spurs, Nets, Pacers, Nuggets got absorbed into the NBA; the owners of the Spirits of St Louis were paid off to go away (an excellent story for another day), and that left the Colonels as the odd team out, since only four teams would go to the NBA.

      11) John Y Brown owned the Colonels; he had gotten rich from buying KFC from the original Colonel Sanders. He turned a $2M investment into $284M in seven years.

The NBA paid Brown $3M to fold the Colonels and then bought half-interest in the NBA’s Buffalo Braves— he bought the other 50% the next year, then wound up trading the Braves franchise for the Boston Celtics- the guy that bought the Braves then moved them to San Diego, where they became the Clippers.

      10) Think about how this all changed the course of history:
      — Maurice Lucas went to Portland and the Blazers won the NBA title in his first year there.
      — Buffalo Braves wound up losing their team.
      — Spurs might’ve disappeared forever had the Colonels gone to the NBA.
      — Brown somehow wound up being Governor of Kentucky.

      9) When the 2017-18 NBA regular season ended earlier this month, there were 265 players with G League experience on NBA rosters. 17 of 30 first-round draft picks from the 2017 NBA draft spent some time in the G-League this season.

      8) This past season in the G-League, players were either on an A contract that paid $28,000 or a B contract that paid $26,000. Next year, all G-League players will be paid $35,000.

      7) NFL rushing yards per game leaders last year:
      Ezekiel Elliott 98.3, Todd Gurley 87.0, Le’Veon Bell 86.1

      6) When you think about Charlie Blackmon’s big numbers, most people would credit the thin air in Denver, but Blackmon has already hit nine homers on the road this season, one at home.

      5) Giants put Johnny Cueto (elbow) on the DL.

      4) A’s/Mariners will open the 2019 season in Japan, March 20-21; last time this happened was in 2012 and the A’s made the playoffs that year, so I won’t complain about it.

      3) Since 2005, Cleveland Browns have drafted seven QB’s in rounds 1-3 of the draft; none of those seven guys is currently a starter in the league.

      2) Braves 3, Mets 2— Third time Noah Syndergaard has allowed 10+ hits in a game; first two times were in 2015, when he was a rookie.

      1) Siena finally decided on a basketball coach, after weeks of bungling their coaching search; they hire former Mount St Mary coach Jamion Christian, who was 101-95 in six years with the Mountaineers, 67-39 in NEC games.

It is getting way more difficult to be a mid-major or low major coach now, since players transfer at the drop of a hat— it is a form of free agency. If a program at a higher level doesn’t recruit well, they just poach a good player from a lower level, like they are a farm club.

      • LEADING OFF: Kluber faces Texas, deGrom vs Braves
        May 1, 2018

A look at what's happening all around the majors Wednesday:

        STREAKING KLUBER

Cleveland right-hander Corey Kluber is 4-1 going into Wednesday's game against Texas and has won four consecutive starts. His 2.18 ERA is the lowest through April for an Indians pitcher with at least 40 innings since Tom Candiotti's 2.13 ERA in 1988. He had a three-hit shutout last Friday against Seattle before Kyle Seager's two-out single in the ninth and was taken out in favor of closer Cody Allen. Kluber struck out 10, reaching double figures for the 41st time. Rangers starter Matt Moore has cut his ERA from 11.05 to 5.33 in his past four games, including three starts.

        ---

        DEGROMINATOR

New York Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom is 3-0 with a 2.06 ERA and has thrown 14 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings going into Wednesday's start against Atlanta and Sean Newcomb. DeGrom has allowed only one extra-base hit to a right-handed batter this season. He pitched seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts in a no-decision April 21 at Atlanta. The 2014 NL Rookie of the Year is 5-3 with a 1.99 ERA in 12 starts vs. the Braves, including a 1.38 mark in four outings at home, and hasn't lost to them since June 2016.

        ---

        BACK IN THE BIG LEAGUES

Wade Miley returns to the major leagues and is scheduled to start for Milwaukee at Cincinnati. The 31-year-old left-hander agreed to a minor league contract in February and appeared set to earn a starting spot before injuring a groin late in spring training. He was 1-1 with a 3.09 ERA in 11 2/3 innings in three starts for Biloxi of the Double-A Southern League. When he's added to the 40-man roster, Miley gets a one-year contract with a salary of $2.5 million while in the major leagues and can earn $3.2 million in performance bonuses: $1.6 million each for innings, starts and relief appearances. He would get $100,000 each for 30 and 50 innings; $150,000 apiece for 70, 90 and 110; $200,000 each for 130 and 150; $250,000 for 170 and $300,000 for 90. His starts bonuses are $100,000 each for 12 and 14; $150,000 apiece for 16, 18 and 20; $200,000 each for 22 and 24; $250,000 for 26; and $300,000 for 28. Miley's relief appearance amounts are $100,000 each for 15 and 20; $150,000 apiece for 25, 30 and 35; $200,000 each for 40 and 45; $250,000 for 50 and $300,000 for 55.

        ---

        DODGE BALL

Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu is unbeaten in five starts going into Wednesday's outing at Arizona, compiling a 3-0 record and 2.22 ERA over that stretch while averaging 10.80 strikeouts per nine innings. Diamondbacks right-hander Zack Godley takes the mound with a 4-1 record and is 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA in two starts against the Dodgers this season.

Hottest team: Marlins (6-1 last seven)

There was little faith that Miami would be featured in the top category this season, but the Marlins have strung together a nice winning stretch. The Marlins started this streak with a pair of impressive road underdog wins over the Dodgers, followed by a home series victory against the Rockies. Miami’s pitching yielded two runs to Colorado, while coming off a pair of wins over Philadelphia the last two nights.

The Marlins look to stay on fire with right-hander Jose Urena on the mound. Urena hasn’t owned great luck on the hill this season as Miami owns an 0-6 record with the right-hander taking the ball, including an 0-5 mark at Marlins Park. Urena faces a struggling Phillies’ offense that has scored one run in three of its last four games, all losses.

Coldest team: Twins (1-11 last 12)

Minnesota qualified for the postseason in 2017, but the Twins’ season is spinning out of control as May gets underway. The Twins were swept by the Rays to begin this miserable stretch, followed by a four-game sweep at the hands of the Yankees. Probably the biggest embarrassment was dropping two of three to the last-place Reds this past weekend, while losing the first two games of their home series to the Blue Jays.

Amazingly, Minnesota isn’t in last place of the AL Central in spite of this horrific last two weeks as Chicago and Kansas City are playing worse. The Twins try to avoid the sweep to the Jays this afternoon as right-hander Fernando Romero makes his Major League debut on the mound. Romero posted a 2.57 ERA in 21 innings of work at Triple-A Rochester, while the Jays send out Marcus Stroman, who has allowed 12 earned runs in his last two starts.

Hottest pitcher: Jacob deGrom, Mets (3-0, 2.06 ERA)

The Braves jumped out to an early 3-0 lead over the Mets on Tuesday and held off New York, 3-2 to capture the first game of their series at Citi Field. deGrom looks to get the Mets back on track as he is coming off three straight starts of tossing at least seven innings, including back-to-back scoreless performances. The right-hander received a no-decision the last time he faced the Braves in Atlanta on April 21, striking out 10 and allowing four hits in seven innings, but New York squandered a 3-0 lead in a 4-3 walk-off loss.

Coldest pitcher: Luis Castillo, Reds (1-3, 7.85 ERA)

Castillo lasted one inning in his previous outing at Minnesota, allowing five earned runs and six hits. Somehow, Castillo didn’t factor in the decision as the Reds rallied and busted out for 15 runs in a 15-9 triumph over the struggling Twins. The right-hander has yielded at least three earned runs in all six starts this season, although he is making his first home appearance since March 31 against Washington. Castillo’s top strikeout performance came against tonight’s opponent Milwaukee back on April 16 by sitting down eight Brewers in a 10-4 road victory.

Biggest OVER run: Indians (6-0 last six)

Cleveland overcame a 6-2 ninth inning deficit on Tuesday thanks to Michael Brantley’s grand slam. However, the Indians lost in extra innings to the Rangers, but the game hit the OVER, marking the sixth consecutive OVER for the Tribe. Cleveland’s pitching has been the reason for this OVER streak, allowing 45 runs in this stretch, including eight or more runs three times. Ace Corey Kluber looks to stop the bleeding for this Cleveland staff as he heads to the hill in the finale against the Rangers. Kluber has won four straight starts, but is coming off OVERS in his last two outings.

Biggest UNDER run: Cubs (7-0 last seven)

Chicago had its five-game winning streak snapped in Tuesday’s 3-1 setback to Colorado, but its pitching continued to thrive. The Cubs have allowed seven runs in the six games on their current homestand, including three shutouts. The offense has done enough to get by during this run, but hasn’t eclipsed the three-run mark in seven consecutive contests. Yu Darvish takes the hill for the Cubs in the finale against the Rockies, coming off four straight UNDERS in his past four appearances.

Matchup to watch: Yankees vs. Astros

New York and Houston reached Game 7 of the American League Championship Series last season before the Astros finished off the Yankees on the way to a World Series title. Both these teams have performed well lately as the Yankees entered this series on a nine-game winning streak, while the Astros had won three of their previous four series.

The Astros edged the Yankees in Monday’s series opener at Minute Maid Park, 2-1 as Charlie Morton yielded two hits in 7.2 innings and struck out 10 batters. Justin Verlander put together an outstanding outing on Tuesday by striking out 14 in eight scoreless innings, but left the game tied at 0-0 after eight. Yankees’ catcher Gary Sanchez knocked out a three-run homer in the ninth inning to lift New York to a 4-0 triumph as +160 underdogs to even the series.

The teams play the third of a four-game set tonight as Dallas Keuchel tries to turn around his luck for Houston. The former Cy Young winner has compiled a 1-4 record this season, as Houston’s offense hasn’t helped out the southpaw by scoring exactly one run in each of his four losses. Keuchel is coming off his worst start of the season by allowing six earned runs in an 8-1 home defeat to Oakland as a -180 favorite. Keuchel shut down the Yankees at home in the ALCS last October by tossing seven shutout innings in a 2-1 victory in the series opener.

Luis Severino counters for New York, who seeks its 11th win in 12 games. Severino has rebounded nicely since getting racked by the Red Sox in a 14-1 loss on April 10 by giving up four earned runs in his last three trips to the mound, all victories. Severino didn’t have much luck in two starts against the Astros in the 2017 ALCS by not lasting past the fifth inning, while the Yankees posted an 0-2 record.

Betcha didn’t know: If the Diamondbacks want to overtake the Dodgers for the NL West crown this season, Arizona needs to take care of its business against the defending NL champions. The D-backs have done just that by capturing seven of eight matchups, including a perfect 5-0 record at Chase Field against Los Angeles. The latest victory came in Tuesday’s comeback triumph against the Dodgers’ bullpen in a 4-3 win as +170 underdogs. • Betts homers 3 times as Red Sox beat Royals 5-4
                    May 2, 2018

BOSTON (AP) Mookie Betts belted three solo homers and J.D. Martinez also went deep, powering the Boston Red Sox to a 5-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.

It was the fourth three-homer game for the 25-year-old Betts, snapping a tie with Hall of Famer Ted Williams for most three-homer games in franchise history.

AL East-leading Boston won for the third time in four games after losing 7-6 in 13 innings on Tuesday night.

Cheslor Cuthbert homered for Kansas City, and Drew Butera had a two-run double. Danny Duffy (0-4) was tagged for five runs and 10 hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Drew Pomeranz (1-1) worked six innings for the win and Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in the ninth for his eighth save.

                    INDIANS 12, RANGERS 4

CLEVELAND (AP) - Edwin Encarnacion homered three times and drove in six runs, helping the Indians to the runaway win.

Encarnacion hit a three-homer in the first, a two-run shot in the second and a solo drive in the eighth. The designated hitter leads the team with nine homers despite a .191 batting average.

Jason Kipnis and Francisco Lindor also connected in Cleveland's highest scoring game of the season. Corey Kluber (5-1) allowed three solo homers in seven innings in his fifth straight win.

Rangers starter Matt Moore (1-4) allowed a career-high 10 runs in four innings, including three homers.

Joey Gallo, Nomar Mazara and Juan Centeno homered for Texas, which lost for the third time in four games.

                    BRAVES 7, METS 0

NEW YORK (AP) - Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom was pulled after four dominant innings with a hyperextended right elbow, and the Braves broke out against the bullpen to back a stellar start by Sean Newcomb.

DeGrom pitched smoothly through the heart of Atlanta's order in his final inning. But he was replaced by Paul Sewald (0-2) to begin the fifth.

Atlanta also had an injury concern when shortstop Dansby Swanson was lifted in the sixth inning with a sore left wrist. The Braves said it was a precautionary measure.

Newcomb (2-1) pitched seven innings of two-hit ball. He also doubled and scored on Ender Inciarte's two-run homer in the seventh.

                    NATIONALS 9, PIRATES 3

WASHINGTON (AP) - Bryce Harper hit a leadoff homer and drove in three runs, Stephen Strasburg struck out 11 and the Nationals earned their fourth straight win.

Matt Adams clubbed his third homer in two games for Washington. Strasburg (3-3) allowed three runs - two earned - and seven hits in seven innings.

Batting at the top of the lineup for the second straight game, Harper sent a first-inning pitch from Ivan Nova (2-2) into the second deck in right-center for his 10th homer this season and second in two nights.

Francisco Cervelli homered for Pittsburgh, which will try to avoid a series sweep on Thursday.

                    ROCKIES 11, CUBS 2

CHICAGO (AP) - Nolan Arenado hit two of Colorado's four homers and drove in five runs, lifting the Rockies to the road win.

Arenado hit a long two-run homer to center off Yu Darvish (0-3) in the first inning. He connected again in the eighth, hitting a three-run drive to left off Luke Farrell.

Trevor Story led off the fifth with a long homer to left, and Chris Iannetta chased Darvish one out later with a solo drive that made it 6-1.

Tyler Anderson (2-0) pitched a season-high seven innings after leaving his previous start because he was feeling light-headed. The left-hander struck out a season-high nine while permitting two runs and three hits.

Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant homered for the Cubs, who finished with four hits in their eighth consecutive game with three or fewer runs.

                    CARDINALS 3, WHITE SOX 2

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Cardinals ace Carlos Martinez hit his first major league home run and threw 7 1/3 effective innings.

Dexter Fowler added a two-run homer for the Cardinals, who won their second game in a row.

Chicago has dropped four straight and 13 of 17. The White Sox fell to a season-low 12 games under .500.

Martinez (3-1) got St. Louis on the board with a 407-foot shot off Lucas Giolito (1-4) with two outs in the sixth. Martinez allowed one run and five hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

Bud Norris got four outs for his sixth save in six chances.

                    BREWERS 3, REDS 1

CINCINNATI (AP) - Christian Yelich homered, Wade Miley pitched six effective innings in his Milwaukee debut and the Brewers swept the sloppy Reds.

Yelich hit a tiebreaking drive to right off Luis Castillo (1-4) in the fifth.

Miley (1-0) allowed three hits, struck out four and walked three. The veteran left-hander agreed to a minor league deal with the Brewers in February and was promoted ahead of the finale of the three-game set, replacing Brent Suter in the rotation.

Jeremy Jeffress worked two innings for this second save in two nights.

Cincinnati committed three errors while slipping to 7-24, matching the franchise's worst 31-game start.

                    TWINS 4, BLUE JAYS 0

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Fernando Romero pitched four-hit ball into the sixth inning in his major league debut, giving Minnesota a badly needed boost.

Eddie Rosario homered for the Twins, who won for only the second time in their last 13 games. Romero (1-0) was a big reason why, striking out five in 5 2/3 innings. Four relievers preserved the shutout, allowing only two singles the rest of the way.

Marcus Stroman (0-4) had his best performance in six turns for the Blue Jays this season. The right-hander, who turned 27 on Tuesday, gave up two runs and six hits in seven innings.

                    TIGERS 3, RAYS 2

DETROIT (AP) - JaCoby Jones led off the 12th inning with a triple and scored on John Hicks' bunt single, lifting Detroit to the victory.

Hicks bunted toward first and the Rays didn't have a chance to make a play at the plate. First baseman Brad Miller fielded the ball and collided with right-hander Matt Andriese (0-1).

Warwick Saupold (1-0) got three outs for the win, striking out two. He combined with five other relievers for six scoreless innings, yielding just two hits.

Tampa Bay left-hander Blake Snell was pulled after he surrendered James McCann's tying solo homer with two out in the seventh. Snell, who had won his previous four starts, gave up five hits, struck out four and walked one.

Michael Fulmer pitched six innings of two-run ball for Detroit.

                    PHILLIES 6, MARLINS 0

MIAMI (AP) - Aaron Nola allowed four hits in 7 1/3 innings, helping Philadelphia stop a four-game slide.

Nola (4-1) retired 17 consecutive batters at one point. He struck out seven and walked one.

Cesar Hernandez led off the game with a home run and Maikel Franco had two doubles and drove in a run.

Miami's Jose Urena (0-5) remained winless in his last nine starts dating to last season despite allowing two runs, one earned, in seven innings.

                    GIANTS 9, PADRES 4

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Nick Hundley matched his career high with four hits, Brandon Crawford broke out of a lengthy slump with three RBIs and the Giants beat the Padres.

Austin Jackson added two hits and two RBIs, and Derek Holland (1-3) pitched five innings for his first win of the season for San Francisco.

The Giants finished 7-3 on their homestand and celebrated reliever Will Smith's first appearance in the big leagues in nearly 19 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery on March 30, 2017. Smith pitched one scoreless inning.

Giants right fielder Andrew McCutchen left in the third after getting hit in the back of his elbow by a pitch. X-rays were negative.

Eric Hosmer had two hits and three RBIs for San Diego. Clayton Richard (1-4) got the loss.

Thursday’s List of 13: Doing some thinking out loud…….

                        13) Sunday afternoon at Westwood Country Club in the St Louis area; 7th hole, 123 yards; two guys in the same foursome both got hole-in-1’s.

The odds of two guys in the same foursome getting an ace on the same hole are said to be 17,000,000-1. Pretty cool, but which guy had honors on the next hole?

                        12) Interesting article on Yahoo Sports about the Miami Dolphins’ scouts and how they went about their duties leading up to last week’s draft.

Over the course of last football season and leading up to the draft, Miami’s 10-man scouting staff graded 1,504 players, wrote 3,690 reports and visited 256 colleges.

                        11) ESPN said that Kyle Korver had the ball in his hands for 30 seconds during Cleveland’s OT win in Toronto Tuesday night. He made the most of those 30 seconds, making 7 of 17 shots, 5 of 12 behind the arc. 17 shots in 30 seconds with the ball; sounds like a good job.

                        10) Colorado Rockies led off Tuesday’s game at Wrigley Field with back/back homers; that was first time since 1937 a visiting team starting a game at Wrigley with back/back jacks.

                        9) Dodgers were 23-4 last year when Clayton Kershaw started; they’re 2-5 this year.

                        8) Red Sox 5, Royals 4— Mookie Betts had three homers for Boston, which trailed 3-0 early.

                        7) According to ESPN, Phoenix Suns will hire Utah Jazz assistant coach Igor Kokoskov as their new head coach; he will become the first European-born head coach in the NBA..

                        6) Utah State’s football team will be paid $1.91M to come to Tuscaloosa and lose to the Crimson Tide during the 2022 season.

Thats the 3rd-most $$$ a team has ever gotten for a non-conference game; Florida is paying Colorado State $2M (as part of Jim McElwain’s buyout) for a game this fall and Auburn will pay Tulane $1.937M for a 2019 game

                        5) In case you were wondering, Albert Pujols holds the all-time major league record for first inning home runs— he hit his 142nd 1st inning homer off Dylan Bundy Wednesday night.

                        4) Baseball players get hurt a lot:
                        — Jacob deGrom hyperextended his elbow while batting Wednesday night; an MRI was taken; all Mets fans and deGrom fantasy owners are holding their breath.
                        — Braves’ SS Dansby Swanson left that same game with a sore left wrist.
                        — Dodgers’ P Hyun-jin Ryu left his start in the 2nd inning with an unknown injury.

                        3) Jazz 116, Rockets 108— Utah evens series 1-1 with a road win; they made 15-32 on arc, led by Joe Ingles’ 7-9. Winning a road game without Ricky Rubio is even more impressive.

                        2) A’s 3, Mariners 2– Paxton blanked Oakland for seven innings, striking out 16 hitters in an overpowering performance, but they took him out after 105 pitches and the A’s beat the Seattle bullpen.

1— Random question: What would baseball be like if there was no pitchers’ mound, just a circle in the middle of the infield where the pitchers threw the ball? Would scoring go way up?

                        • LEADING OFF: Mets examine deGrom, Dodgers try to tag Corbin
                          May 2, 2018

A look at what's happening all around the majors Thursday:

                          FRAZIER FRUSTRATION

Mets third baseman Todd Frazier is asking for a meeting with baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred over his growing frustration with the way umpires are calling balls and strikes. Frazier said he recently met with an ump in San Diego. The eight-year veteran argued with plate umpire Lance Barrett during a 7-0 loss to Sean Newcomb and the Braves on Wednesday night.

''I'm not making excuses. We lost fair and square,'' Frazier said. ''The kid pitched a hell of a game. But these umpires gotta get better. Bottom line.''

                          CHECK THEM

The Mets will see how pitcher Jacob deGrom is feeling, a day after he exited early because of a hyperextended right elbow. DeGrom threw four dominant innings against Atlanta before leaving, and has thrown 18 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings. The Mets have been beset by injuries to their pitching staff since reaching the 2015 World Series. ... Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu was forced to leave early Wednesday night with a left groin strain. He has been the team's most consistent starter this year. ... Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera has missed three straight games because of a left biceps spasm and there's no timetable for his return. ... Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson said he felt discomfort while hitting, and was pulled early with a sore left wrist. Manager Brian Snitker said Swanson will sit out a game and then be re-evaluated.

                          BLANKED

Masahiro Tanaka will try to extend the Yankees' shutout streak in Houston. Luis Severino threw a five-hitter Wednesday night to give New York its second straight win by the exact same 4-0 score over the Astros.

                          YOU AGAIN?

Patrick Corbin struck out a career-high 12 when the Dodgers visited Arizona earlier this season, holding the NL champions to one hit over 7 1/3 scoreless innings. The 28-year-old lefty is 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA this season going into this start at home against Los Angeles.

                          WELCOME BACK

Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson is expected to join the team in Cleveland for a doubleheader. He's been on the disabled list since mid-April because of a shoulder problem. The 2015 AL MVP has played 12 games for Toronto this season, hitting three home runs with nine RBIs.

The Blue Jays are on the move this week. They played at Minnesota on Wednesday night, visit Cleveland for a twinbill caused by a couple of weather-related postponements, then begin a weekend series Friday night at Tampa Bay.

                          VICTORY LANE

White Sox righty Reynaldo Lopez hasn't given up more than two earned runs in any of his five starts this season, and sports a nifty 1.78 ERA. But Chicago hasn't supported him with the bats, leaving him with an 0-2 record. He'll try to get in the win column when he starts at home against Minnesota.

                          WAIT AND SEE

The Red Sox have put lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on the family medical leave list. Manager Alex Cora said he doesn't know if Rodriguez will miss his turn in the rotation.
