Why is it that all of the places that they say are really being affected by "Global Warming" are places that you need to be dropped in by a helicopter ??
It cracks me up, so no "Republicans" can believe in Global Warming, because of Al Gore? The only thing that would be more hilarious is, if Al Gore said the sky was blue, and you guys had to argue against that. "It's not really blue, your blue might be my green, so how do we really know what blue is"
Places that you have to be dropped in by helicopter, are warming at a rate two or three times the global average. Even half a degree rise in temperature can have an enormous affect on the way the weather and planet operates. The sea level has risen 6 to 8 inches in the last 100 years. These higher temperatures are causing some floating icebergs to melt, but more importantly are affecting the polar-caps.
I watched this a while back and it was pretty convincing to me…If you’ve seen it and disagree with it I would love to hear the reasoning..
I know of it, but really only because of the "African Dream" argument that they make in the film. If I get a chance, I'm certainly willing to watch it and give my thoughts.
I'm sure that was just the first video that came up in your search but all I learned from the 5 minute preview is that melting ice caps will effect our international maritime traffic and a little boy likes to go hunting with his grandparents.
I know there are videos on both sides. I have watched many many of those videos and the one I posted just makes the most sense to me that is why I asked for opinions on it…

i was wondering what YOU were trying to say, i could care less about yahoo.
you wouldn't be afraid to post YOUR thinking for why you posted what you did would you?
You posted a yahoo response, as your own earlier, so I just assumed you liked their responses. No point in arguing this. I already know your generated response to what polar caps are. If you really don't know, go look it up.

are you saying warming is affecting antarctia?
how are floating icebergs a problem?

The most common graphical representation of a plants photosynthetic capacity seen in peer reviewed literature is what is called an A/Ci curve or Assimilation/Internal CO2. These data are acquired by attaching an airtight cuvette to a leaf and keeping light levels steady while increasing CO2 concentrations from 50ppm up to 800ppm and higher. Assimilation (or carbon fixation) increases rapidly from 50 to about 300ppm and then begins to slow and levels off somewhere between 600 and 800ppm.
So according to this, CO2 concentrations much higher than the current atmospheric level of 385ppm results in higher photosynthetic rates.
