Update Time
Its a slow today until tonight, so I thought I would give a quick update regarding the married life:
In short, it couldn't be better-this lady is as loving and as caring as anyone could hope for in a marriage.
She is also intent on learning English and I purchased her a well known course with CDs on the internet to help her in this regard along with a book entitled Ingles for Dummies. Does the Dummy series ring a bell? Yeah-you got it- the same outfit which published Windows for Dummies.
Oh yes, I have even snuck in some small bets of late when she is studying.
Again, I would HIGHLY recommend that any of you guys who are having troubled meeting the right lady do what I did;you won't be disappointed and it is well worth the time, effort and money!

hey savage try your local collage they usually have free programs for people to learn english and grammar thats where my wife went to help her learn that really helped her out alot.(they are usually at night also)

Thanks Tinman for your concern and advice.
Actually, we have been considering English as a second language for her, but the courses do not start until the fall.
We did buy the Rosetta Stone OnLine course;this is actually a pretty well known course which teaches folks any language not just English in the same manner in which a child learns it-photos, words and sentences to go with the photos, repetitions, various exercises, etc.(in other words, in a natural manner);it is quite expensive but so far well worth the money.
In addition, she is studying the English for Dummies book and doe things like reading the newspaper every day(doesn't check the lines though yet lol) and watching movies dubbed in Spanish but with closed captions in English.
Obviously, it sure helps that I studied Spanish for 5 years in high school and college, although as I stated before she must speak at a much slower rate than usual for me to understand her. For the most part though, I have no problem conveying my thoughts to her in Spanish.
Her ultimate goal once she masters English is to have a career in architecture as one of her college degrees in this area(the other is in urbanism).

Here is an observation, which probably doesn't prove anything:
Last night I wanted to show my wife how many ladies there are out there looking for guys(lets leave out their motivations for the time being, as there has been enough controversy the last few days).
Anyways, I logged on to both of the websites I had been a member of before marrying-www.mate1.com and www.latinamericancupid.com(I am obviously no longer a member and can no longer chat). By so doing, the ladies were allowed to see my photo, that of my daughter and my profile.
Anyways, when I logged on to the sites, I opened up the instant chatline just to see what kind of interest there is for men and in my case an older and retired guy.
Well keep in mind this was around 12:30 AM this morning, which for example is 12:30 in the Philippines and a different time elsewhere depending on where the particular lady lived.
Well, anyways I was literally deluged(wait line) with requests to chat from many ladies mostly from the Philippines and many of them young 18-25(there were some older ladies also), which would clearly call into the question their motivations. Many of these ladies were quite attractive.
What is interesting is that I read some if these ladies's profiles and some of these ladies said that wanted a guy from 18-80(a deadpan giveaway that they are desperate and or that their motives might not be sincere).
Interestingly though, some of these young ladies who wanted to chat stated in their profiles that they were looking for guys up to 3 5or so, indicating that their age requirement is flexible.
On the Latin American Cupid site, there were also many very attractive ladies from countries all over South America and several requests to correspond;some were educated, some were not;some had kids and some did not.
What are my objective conclusions from all of this:
Well, for sure there are plenty of ladies(many attractive) in the world who for whatever reasons are looking for an American guy.
Some of them have pure motivations, and some do not.
However, that being said, I would still suggest that if anyone who reads this is unmarried, older (40's on up),has not had much success for whatever reason with American ladies and is seeking a mate, who has a minset/value system different from many Ameircan ladies, then at least consider the possibility of an alternate means such as these.
I can't say if my wife is indicative of all or even if the great majority of ladies in other parts of world looking for men(obviously I admit being biased here, and as I have said before, I myself exposed a number of scammers on these sites);however, if last night is any example, it tells me if a guy "throws" the line out there (like I did last night), there are plenty of 'fish" out there who will bite.

Although obviously many feel I am wrong and unpatriotic for some of my strong political views toward this president and this administration, I will continue at the very least to allude to people, tv shows, books, litererature,etc. which I believe/hope will get others to see what some other intelligent folks are saying about the current state of the US and the world.
Re: this thread, it has been quite a rewarding and enlightening adventure for me, and I hope some will gain by what I have recounted during the last year(and of course those who responded also).

Quick update-everything here is fine.
One thing I want to point out is that in addition to the two great websites I mentioned previously-www.mate1.com and www.latinamericancupid.com, there is now a new one-www.colombiancupid.com, which is affiliated with latinamericancupid.com but consists only of Colombian women, a few of whom live in the States.
If any of you are interested and/or curious, you can become a guest member at any of the three with no obligation.

Without getting too dramatic about this, note that today marks the first anniversary of when I started this thread.

I can't believe three months have passed since the last time I updated.
In actuality there isn't much to add except to say that everything is still great, and that for any of you who have not founnd a suitable companion in the US by whatever means you use, this is a very nice alternative especially if you have the time, money and patience to do so.

Well here we are another three months later, and everything is still great;hopefully, the Sox investment in Matsuzaka will be as wise as the one I made in this lady.
She is going to travel to Colombia on 1/18 to visit her family for one month and I will follow the day after the Superbowl for a 12 day vacation. From what I have seen on the internet, they are on a nice run of sunny, hot(90 degrees) days in her city(Cartagena);I sure that continues, although who can complain about winter this year so far in New England?
Our intent is to have one child, although by the time we have one I will be at least 63, which is a little unsettling.
Anyways, thats the happy update for now.
