IMO...Pinella did a Grady Little and kept him out there too long. I would have taken him out before the 7th. Hell you got Marmol and Guzman just sitting there waiting with fresh arms.

I know he's a bit gun shy with the recent implosions of our bullpen, but Z was already over 100 pitches before he stepped on the mound in the 7th.

That is a fact. I'm so pissed right now from a betting standpoint with bullpens though. Not talking about the cub game, but Shields is throwing a gem, gets yanked and the D'Rays bullpen ends up giving away the game. Same thing for the Orioles, Bedard dealing yesterday, gets pulled, and the O's piss away the lead. 2 games yesterday where the starters leave up 3-1 and both teams bullpens give up 3 fucking runs in the 8th and I lose both 4-3 I'm taking at least a week off

That's a great point pappy. Pinella didn't have any confidence (and rightfully so) in Eyre, so that's our lone remaining lefty I believe. Wanted to play the lefty/lefty percentages, and got burned.

But I think our origional point is true...never should have gotten to that point. Put Cotts in to face Thome who hasn't hit in over a month, and they might be out of the inning still only down one.
