Patients shouldn't have to ask for a better procedure is what I told my mom. The real reason is the cost of the equipment. However, fusions in the neck tend to have higher success rates than in the lower back. Of course my dad has a bulging disk in the lower back as well. Mild they said so hopefully it heals up on its own or through a shot to reduce the inflamation.
