Benno was the name of the male puppy (Rottweiler) that my younger sister got shortly after our mom died.
She named him after the guard dog (also a male Rott) that my dad kept at his parent's tavern before he married my mom. There is a story behind the name but I don't remember it.
Anyway, I wound up helping take care of this puppy as he grew up. At 3 1/2 years of age, he was stolen from our backyard and we never saw him again. I'm not much of a crier but I really cried when I found out he was gone. It was then that I realized how attached I had become to this dog.

    So, that's the story.

    Benno + JD (my initials)
    first name= JOHN;
    last name= D_ _ _ _ _ _ (unnecessary to disclose)

    Sincerely,
    Bennojd

This is one of the most interesting threads I've read here in a LONG time.

I've also wondered where and what these names have come from and mean.

Thanks to everyone for participating, lets hope we can get some more.

The derivation of my name is BORING.
Its like in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire-if I recall correctly,she/he was reading the paper and saw headlines using words Doubt Fire; when someone asked what her/his name was, she chose Mrs. Doubtfire.
Well, in my case I simply wanted to join the forum and needed a name.
In any case since winning money is what this is all about and destroying your man by inference, the word "savage" came to mind and seemed appropriate.
Sorry for such a simple explanation, but that is it.

mine is pretty boring, but I'll contribute anyway...it's the first three letters of my first name and the first three letters of my last name. A goalie on a hockey team I played on started calling me that and it kinda stuck as a nickname.

You need people like me so you can point your fingers and say Hey there's the bad guy! So, what does that make to you. Good guys? Don't kid yourselves. You're no better'n me. You just know how to hide and how to lie. Me, I do not have that problem. I always tell the truth, even when I lie!

This is a great idea of yours ... lots of fun reading about all friends here .

                  I chose CoverBoy

Cover - because I've been working at beating the point spreads now for 25 years.

Boy - 'cause I'm retired goin on 4 years next month and I'm having nothing but fun like I did when I was a kid.

The best way to describe my life is that I'm back in high school having a blast ... and never having to attend classes or take tests.

All my life I've tried to do good for people ( I chose to be a Doctor as my life's work ) and all the good I've done has come back to me tenfold.

                  My name is Neil

I'm not as creative as other members. It's simply my first name, last initial and the month I was born. BORING

RJeremy GREAT thread!!!! It's certainly better than some thread with all the bickering. THANKS!

I figured Goose had something to do with Top Gun.

My wife and I were having dinner (and Drinks) one night and a woman walked in to have dinner and the whole placed stopped and looked because she was very very very pretty, my wife said to me " hell I would sleep with her" . When we left the woman was leaving as well and we noticed her Tag said GR8Life and a few days later we were invited to a business dinner at one of our clients houses and when we pulled up to the house we saw the car with the Gr8Life tag in the garage, much to our amusement it was our clients wife. We became friends and when I needed a name for the forum that just seemed to be the perfect name.

                              Great Story, GR8Life........

Funny how things like that work out.

I thought the story was going to be, my wife and I ended up taking her home, and ever since then you've had a "GR8Life"
