I remember when:
Strat-o-matic Baseball was all the rage!
Intellivision took over for Atari
A scoop of ice cream was $.30 at Baskin Robins, $.55 for 2 scoops!
I had to use a typewriter to type memos at work and walk them around to distribute (only 10 yrs ago!)
You had to wait until 'tomorrow' to see box scores.
Had to call 'Sportsphone' at $.99 cents a call to get up to the minute scores.
Growing up in NY, the NYK and NYR when home, were on cable, which very few people had...and I wasnt one of them.
Listening to the radio as the NYI beat the NYR in OT/Game 5 playoffs on a Kenny Morrow goal, 40 seconds after Miko Lenonin hit the post for the blue shirts...game was not on TV.
Had to wait for the Sunday newspaper to get the YTD stats for all sports.
Thinking my Dad was so cool because he got a video recorder...it had to be put on a tri-pod and the VCR had a strap to lug it so you could record.
Running a football pool with 50 people in it and handwriting the games/spreads, photocopying and having to manually track.
