How about popping popcorn on the stove and not in a microwave??? ....

Here's the reason I remember my first microwave. We always popped corn in a big metal pan on the stove. So my oldest son was about 2 1/2 or 3 years old. He knew that you could pop corn in the microwave. and he knew we always used a big metal pan to pop corn on the stove. So he put popcorn in a big metal stove pan, put it in our new microwave, the first we ever owned (maybe 1977 or 78). I came into the kitchen and there were sparks flying all over the kitchen and the microwave was smoking.
