Bama beat 3 teams in the final regular season BCS rankings.

    #6, #22, #25

    Advantage: Ok St

Ok St played 9 teams going to a bowl game (and won 8 of those games).

Bama played 7 teams going to a bowl game (and won 6 of those games).

    Advantage: Ok St

Ok St's OOC opponents: UL-L, Arizona, Tulsa (Not great, but 2 of those teams are going to a bowl game)

Bama's OOC opponents: Kent St, Penn St, North Texas, Georgia Southern (Are you kidding me, that is horrendous...I know, I know, they play in the SEC so they don't need to schedule any tough OOC games!!!)

Advantage: I would say Ok St, but if you wanna say push, fine.

Games against at or above .500 teams: Ok St played 9 of those games.

Games against at or above .500 teams: Bama played 7 of those games.

    Advantage: Ok St

One Loss: Ok St lost to Iowa St.

One Loss: Bama lost to LSU.

    Advantage: This one is obvious.

The pt is this can be debated all day and night, but it wouldn't have to be if this system wasn't so shitty. Alabama got their chance to beat LSU and they failed. I laid it out above why Ok St deserves a chance yet they won't get it because Ok St lost later in the season than Bama did and people love the SEC. The whole thing is such a f'ing scam.

PS (Again) V Tech in the Sugar Bowl? Unreal
Boise,OK State,Stanford etc..... could have all made this easy by not losing. LSU/Bama HAD to play each other as #1 and #2. If Boise beats TCU then they make the Big game IMO. They beat an SEC team that went to the SEC championship pretty good. OK State beats Iowa state and there in. EVERY scenario goes back to teams not doing what they needed to do to make it. I'm with you 10000% that it's a bullshit system but it is what it is. I want a 4-8 game playoff. Just something!!!!

But why in Bama's case did it do what it needed to do?

I understand they lost to the #1 team, but as I pointed out, there are other things that favor Ok St.

A 4 or 8-team playoff would be bigger than the SB IMO...I don't understand why these assholes who are in charge refuse to abandon the BCS for a system that would make them more money.

And you know this how? Again, this whole thing is BS cuz it's all spoKen in hypotheticals as if they're facts. I'm just tired of hearing the argument end at "Team A would not beat Team B."
I don't know this for fact, and Wayne doesn't either.

But from seasons past you start to get the concept that SEC teams trounce OOC opponents when it matters.

Angelina Jolie is a way better fuck than Jennifer Anniston. Thats a hypothetical statement by me as I wouldn't know cause I haven't fucked either of them. But when you watch/see things with your own eyes it becomes a fact.

If you wanna say it's a fact Bama beats Ok St, that's fine, but you'd be wrong, it's not a fact unless they actually play ON THE FIELD...I know, I know, what a concept.

So when Boise hammered Georgia or when Utah hammered Bama, they did so because those games "didn't matter" to either Georgia or Bama?

It's all opinion Jimmy. Until we get a playoff, it's all based on what we see with our eyes. Okie St has one big flaw and it is the ability to just drop a stink bomb out there like Iowa St. Bama and Lsu would never let that happen to a team like that. And based on past history with these SEC defenses against other conferences and their high powered offense (Like Lsu vs Oregon this year), i feel pretty good about my argument. I don't really care how many top 25 teams each beat and stuff.

Not sure if you do or don't, but most SEC fans (at least when it comes to FB) never shutup about how great the SEC is, yadda, yadda, yadda...IMO, that's why people can't stand the SEC when it comes to FB...similar to Cowboys, Lakers, and Yankees fans.

Why play the regular season then? Let's just put 2 SEC teams in the NC game every year.

I understand what you're saying, but this is a new season. Every other sport (that I can think of) determines a champion on the field while CFB partially determines one based on coaches who vote despite the fact that they can't be impartial and nerds who have never watched FB in their lives.

SEC fans (me included) are guilty of praising the conference to much. And the rest of the word is a little guilty of always saying how overrated we are sometimes. It's no hard feelings from me cause I think the ultimate goal is for us to get a playoff. March Madness has what 66 teams now? And people still bitch cause their team didn't get in. So it's never going to be perfect but MY GOD we need atleast a 4 team playoff. Computers and all this other shit picking two teams to play for it all is crazy.

It's the 1st time 2 teams from the same conference meet in a Title game. It's not like it happens every year.

I don't like it either but this year, it just worked out this way. If Okie St doesn't pull an absolute choke job, we are not having this conversation right now.

I like how everybody is jumping on the SEC matchup for the national championship but I think me and LvJimmy are the only two who have brought up Virginia Tech. That should be the biggest outrage of the bowls yet nobody is even complaining about the system there!!!

The system just tries to determine top 2 teams, all other bowls either have tie ins or at large selections, so vatech and mich for that matter...didnt earn their spots, they were selected by that particular bowl to sell tickets
