  • More of you should take advantage of NFL Teasers

I've heard people say for years that these are "Sucker" bets and i IMO think the only suckers are the ones who refuse to play them.

I play mostly straight wagers in CFB and mostly teasers in the NFL. In the College game, many more games are decided by wide margins. In the NFL, not many are at all. I played 8 teasers in the NFL this week and went (6-2). My only 2 losers were teasers involving Philly. The other teams with philly in both teasers all covered.

Mix it up with 7 or 10 pointers. You will be amazed at how it works for you (IMO). I saw many guys here Sunday that were miserable with how many games ended and if you look at all their plays, almost every team they played would have covered on a teaser.

There were 16 games this past weekend with a total of 32 teams playing. Well, 27 of those 32 covered on a 7 point teaser. Think about that for a minute. 27 of 32. The key is not to put the same team on too many teasers. Take all the teams you like and pair them up.

Teams that you like who are favored by 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10, put on a 7 pt. teaser and bring it to -3 or less. The 4-6 point faves turn to +1 to +3 and you will be amazed at how many teams win by 3 or less or lose by 1 or 3 to get you a win or push. Take teams favored by 10 or more and link them up on a 10 point teaser and turn it in to a pick or -1 (for -11) or -2 (for -12) and so on. If you like teams that are favored by -3.5 or less, put those on a 7 or 10 pointer. You can turn that in to +3.5 or +6 or +7 because many of those games will be very close throughout.

Obviously dogs bark even louder when you take those same numbers and turn a +1, +2 or +3 in to a +8, +9 or +10. You take teams getting +7.5 or more and suddenly you are getting over two TD's at +14.5 and up.

This works for favorite players and people who love to play dogs as well.

Obviously like anything, you can't win every week but i truly believe it will increase your chances. I could go on and on but i will leave you with one more thing to think about.

There have been 5 MNF games so far this season, involving 10 teams. ALL 10 Teams have covered a 7 point teaser. Every single team that has played on MNF this season, has covered. In 3 of the 5 games, you couldn't lose if you played either side and either total O/U. If you add the 10 teams that played in 5 games with the 10 O/U options in those same games, it totals 20 teaser options, and 18 of 20 have covered a 7 point teaser.

That means if you played a 7 pt. teaser on every single MNF game this year, you would have been guaranteed 3 of 5 winners and most likely more if you picked the right O/U side in either or both of the remaining 2.

18 of 20 on MNF guys. Seriously, think about that for a minute!

I know most will think i'm crazy and wasting my time but hey, we are all here to help each other and i think for some, you may find it interesting and profitable.

I agree especially with how many games have been decided by 3 points or less so far. I absolutely hate parlays though! Some people love them. I had some punters playing parlays with Bet365 and I shit you not they were hitting close to $100k on a parlay. Of course they eventually lost all of their monies.

I agree, but don't forget that teasing across a "zero" is not beneficial. It basically wastes 2 of the points. Having a team at even or +1 doesn't offer any advantage, since games never (or at least not more than one a year) end in a tie.

        I'm not so sure about that v. I love teasing a -7 to a pk or a -8 to a -1

Ill do a 6 point tease on a -5 to a +1 or +2 on a 7 pointer. Many games in the nfl are decided by 1 or 2 points and I still like it.

I totally agree on teasers. This is where I have made nearly all my money in the NFL the past 4 seasons. College, not as much. There have been so many games on MNF the last few years where you could win with any teaser combination. It's crazy. 2 years ago I think I won almost every MNF game that I teased.

Interesting Wayne. Would have to look at the database to evaluate how often moving the line actually plays a part in win/loss. Then, figure out odds of winning 2 plays based on this. Just from my personal betting experience (not doing any hard research) in the NFL I feel moving the line doesn't come into play that often (at least prior to this year) and add that with having to hit 2 games, it's tough.

You are not alone rocco. Most, if not many think like you do. Personally, I have always done well with them and been killed by straight wagers in the nfl. When 18 of 20 options have hit on mnf this year, that tells me one thing. Every casino in vegas is getting crushed by teasers this year. No straight wager will ever hit on both sides but teasers do often and when every single teaser placed in every single casino in vegas hit on Monday night. 3 times this year, I guarantee it was costly to them.

I feel that this year has been somewhat of an exception, but thats just based on memory, no info to support that. I have noticed that teasers have been great this year, especially in primetime games...so many games have ended close to the line and o/u that u cant go wrong moving it either way. But I dont recall that happening all that much last year, usually when you hit the teaser you would have been right with the normal line anyhow.

11 out of 16 times this weekend alone orgaza, the team that didn't cover the straight wager did cover a teaser. Dallas, st louis, oakland, jax, buffalo, tb and many more that people lost on, all covered on a 7 pointer. It has been happening A LOT this year, not just this past weekend.

I agree, I didnt say just this past weekend I said all this year it has been good...cant remember it being this good in the past years though...my local usually loves teaser players cuz he would constantly be collecting from them, but he has been bitching about em this year. He also made rule changes and will not allow you to tease the game n total on the same game.

I defnitely agreed...look at my plays this past week

                          Cincy winner
                          Oakland loser
                          Dallas loser
                          Arizona loser
                          Pitt loser
                          Balt winner
                          TB loser

                          Won 2 lost 5...as a teaser I would have been 7 and 0.

The biggest reason why I fuckin HATE locals. They just change rules on the fly. If something isn't going well for them, they stop taking it.

defin see how teasers have been hitting this year. The lines have been closer to the win difference than previous years.
