Got lucky. Had Utah +8.5. I can only imagine the chaos in the sportsbooks when people holding USC tickets thought they covered.

USC blocked a last second FG and took it back for a TD. They called a flag on the USC sideline for excessive celebration because players on the sideline went on the field before he scored. They took the TD off the board and ended the game. Utah covered not USC.

Just wondering if that was the right call...I mean with time on the clock the td would still count and penalty would be enforced on kickoff would it not have? If so why take the td off the board.

They just said it was under the new rules

Just heard the reason falls under new rule this year...points will be taken off the board for unsportsmanlike fouls, if they occur before player is in end zone.

Well that's not the case here cuz this penalty did nothing to help aid the play on the field, basically a celebrating penalty always gets enforced on following play...anyhow just wanted to vent, there will be tough losses all year, just glad football is back on.

Right, but aren't most celebration penalties in the end zone AFTER a score? This wasn't, it happened when the dude was on the 50 yard line and still running. That was the difference.

How is it bullshit? The whole team was literally 10-15 yards on the field when the guy still had 40 yards to run. It was blatant!
