But do we really know? Roddy White was the 27th pick, Greg Jennings was a 2nd round 52nd pick, Reggie Wayne the 30th pick, Brandon Lloyd a 4th round pick and Mike Wallace a 3rd round pick. Those were your Top 5 Receivers last year in Receiving yards in the NFL. Receivers are just as much of a crapshoot as anything else and none of those teams gave up their future to get them!

Hell, they could have sat at #27 and grabbed Baldwin, a guy who had a horrible QB this year at Pitt, was double and triple teamed all season and still had a great year. Just crazy!

I disagree. I think Mcelroy is one of the best QB's in this draft. He has all the tools and i know a couple of teams who are in love with him and his accuracy. Julio didn't have a scrub at QB by any means. I know it is your team and you want to defend the move but that simply isn't true IMO.

I dont remember calling him a scrub but he wasn't a top QB to me. Amazing how every fan turns into GM's or Mel Kiper every draft. It's the stupidest argument every year cause we don't know shit and we damn sure don't know the future. Nobodys opinion in April has anything to do with how the player plays in September.

Julio Jones is just as good. Both guys are going to make a great career for themselves. Green had a couple good qb's throwing to him and Jones made a couple qb's look good. As far as what they gave up to get him as a Falcon fan I feel like were so close to something big here that it's worth giving up some picks to get the right folks now. Was it the right move? Only time will tell but right now I like it.

Jones is just as good? No offense man and he may end up being just as good, but you're being a homer. There is absolutely no f'ing way you can say that if you watched both these WRs in college.

I hear you guys with the notion that you're in trouble if you think you're one player away from making the super bowl. But, Falcons give in essence, their 2nd and 4th round pick this yea, and their 1st and 4th for next year. So, I'm sure they're thinking, that 1st next year will be 28+. Swapping of their 1st rd pick this year means nothing really because they replaced it with the 6th pick. I will say that there are a number of ways to skin a cat. Pats like to trade down and aquire picks. Jets have been really aggressive the past 5 years and its paid off for them. Remember, they traded away a lot to get Sanchez. The Falcons still have a 3rd, 5-7 this year, so its not like they gave away everything. I love the move. They will have two of the most physical WR in the NFL now.

Come on jimmy. He's at least 4th at best. Jones, Green, Baldwin, Hankerson. And for you to state that there's no way that Julio is as good or better than Green is way off. Julio has better speed, vertical, and is more physical, and it's not like he drops balls; plus he goes over the middle. I love AJ but I just think Julio brings more to the table, and he's proven it with his play in the SEC. Patrick Peterson has even come out and said that Julio is the best WR he's ever played against.

if atlanta had made that move to get the best wr in the draft and the georgia star in a.j. Green, it would have made a ton more sense to me. For julio jones though, that is just a head scratcher .........

this is my opinion on the move.i think it is a great move by atlanta.when u are on the clock or about to make your pick you have so many options but the key to any draft is to get the player that u want.so if you give up 3 picks or you pick a guy 15 spots early what really matters is getting the person you like.

Here is the other deal people are forgetting,there is still free agency to get people u need you dont have to draft them.without having alot of draft picks that saves the team $$$$$$ so you can makes moves in the free agent market and get players that are already established

if u get the person u want then who cares what you gave up or how early,nothing is worse than trying to wait for a guy and someone else grabs them.this was a weak draft when it comes to playmakers so if the first round everyne was saying was real weak then what type of player are u going to get in round 4 and 5 anyway

You must know him well cause I was watching the pre draft show and they had a camera following the guy. He so fucking cocky it was sick. Sorry my statement was dumb to you but that was my impression of him. If we were best friends with him like you maybe we would see another side of him.
