If Atlanta had made that move to get the best WR in the draft and the Georgia star in A.J. Green, it would have made a ton more sense to me. For Julio Jones though, that is just a head scratcher .........

In hindsight, after Round 1, despite some of the Julio doubters, I think that was a GREAT move by (my) hated Falcons. Would hate to have to game plan against Turner, White and Jones...but, I think the Falcons and the Saints were the winners. Not an offense in the league that better suits Ingram's skills. This will give us...uh, the Saints a lot of lattitude now to offload Reggie and his $11 mil contract (or renegotiate, which I don't think Reg will do). But, even of he doesn't they will look to move either Pierre or Chris Ivory (when the league "reforms") and can plug any remaining holes with that deal. Would think a wideout for one of the RBs makes alot of sense. Clearly, the Saints are moving to WIN IT NOW...just wish they weren't in the South with Matty Ice and his crew. Setting an early total in the first NO / ATL game now....at 63!!! As far as last night's losers...That's a complete no-brainer....THE VIKES...an front office that obviously lacks a brain. Thoughts??Last edited by umreb78; 04-29-2011, 02:46 PM.

One more thing. Just wanta make sure I get on the record before anybody's signed....Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Cam Newton. THis guy was the best athlete in college last year, but......Has there ever been a #1 overall pick who was asked to play a different position in the NFL from college???? Guess Carolina is aiming for #1 overall NEXT YEAR too! Assuming they still have a franchise next year. I've seen about every game that Newton started at AU, and I know there are people who are paid to scout talent, but this guy is not, and will never be, an NFL QB.Last edited by umreb78; 04-29-2011, 02:59 PM.

Only time will tell but right now I like it.

I heard everybody under the sun today say that Atlanta went way overboard to get Jones. My favorite quote of the day was "If you think you are one player away, you are in deep trouble in this league". And i agree. Another great point mentioned was this. The Falcons couldn't slow down the Packers at all in the Playoffs last year and unless Julio plays defense, what is the point. I agree totally again.
When your own star receiver shakes his head at the move, that should tell you something. There is no lock in any draft and to give up a ridiculous amount of picks for a guy known for dropping passes is simply stupid ........ IMO.
