Around here either Vol, even in Chapel Hill......Actually sorry for the way I said it, just when a carloina fan speaks bad of DUKE, well, it brings out the worst in us ..........I've listen to carolina fans whine and cry all of my life around here..........when you don't hand them something, they blame everyone but themselves.....I've just never seen anyone cry like a carolina fan I do think the NIT has some very good teams in it this year and probably the biggest name schools they've ever had.....Should be a good tournament............I just hope all the refs are from carolina tonight when Bill and Mary thumps that butt.........I just can't take hearing them cry about the Refs lol, had to poke at the tarbabies Sorry again, I'm just a Dookie Crap, hard to beat this time of year.............................now let me go pray that Duke doesn't lose the first game just kidding, see you in the final 4!!!

UNC had a horrible year and i won't make any excuses for them. They won me a National Title last year and won EVERY Tourney game by DD. That memory is still fresh in my brain!

I knew it would be hard to lose your starting 5 to the NBA and repeat, most did. They will be back, that's for sure. I don't know many UNC fans up here but there are plenty of Duke band wagon fans who seemingly cry each year when they fail in the big dance. I'll love watching it happen again this year too!

That explains a lot, although I was saying the same thing this past weekend but didn't realize it was as blatant as it is.


But let’s deal with the reality of why Duke was given a favorable draw. The NCAA is desperate for television ratings. The $6 billion CBS paid over 11 years financed a lot of things the NCAA likes to do — stuff like propping up nonrevenue sports.

Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if the NCAA mandated that Christian Laettner, Grant Hill and Shane Battier referee all of the Blue Devils’ tournament games.

Along the lines of this post, it's been said over and over that KU got the #1 seed IN THE ENTIRE TOURNEY so can somone please explain to me how they don't get the worst #2 seed in their bracket and so on?

I'm miffed by the fact that IMO KU got the toughest draw.

On a more serious note, Duke (and North Carolina to a lesser degree) score higher on the old “eyeball” test. Fewer tattoos and more white guys.

I think it may be partially true. Living in NC, I can tell you that it doesn't matter as much as you may think. If you are a Tarheel fan, you hate Duke and Coach K, no matter who is on the team. Same is true about Duke fans and the Heels.

I think he may have a point on the national advertising piece. Not many would admit it, but the fact that Duke has several white players does make a difference. No way they get the #1 overall seed. Race may not be the only factor, but it is part of the equation.
