Hmm-lets see-Sox are 8-0 against the Yankees and as I write this Yanks are a -210 favorite tonight. How can this possibly be?

My Never Lost Parlay of the Year is the Sox and Under in this one.
Play it and you will be smiling an laughing all the way to the bank.
The worst case scenario if things don't right is that you will be standing in line at the bank waiting to speak to your friendly loan officer.

Yankees lines are always inflated. More so when Joba pitches. Also, Smoltz hasn't been very impressive. He's given up 5 or more earned runs in 5 of 7 starts. On the road the Sox have lost 3 of 4 games he's started. In 3 of those starts he's given up 5 or more earned runs.
At home Yanks are 18 games above 500. 9-2 with Joba starting. In 9 of his 11 home starts he's given up 3 or fewer earned runs.
Joba is 0-2 this season vs. Red Sox. That was vs. Beckett at home and Lester in Boston. He pitched well in Boston. Rivera blew the save in the 9th.

I just find it funny and telling how little thinks Vegas of him considering that the Sox are 8-0 against Yankees, and line is still -210 for Yankees.
On the other hand, Vegas is saying that if they can't defeat Smoltz, then they are in real trouble.Last edited by savage1; 08-06-2009, 06:02 PM.

If things were that easy though, Vegas would eventually go out of business.

Even if I wasn't a Sox diehard, I wouldn't lay 210 with a team which hadn't yet defeated the other team all season.
On the other hand, I wouldn't bet the Sox either based on what I have seen of Smoltz.
ps This is a game where if I wanted to bet the Yankees, I definitely would bet the run line-either Smoltz pitches well and the Sox win or he is awful and Sox get smoked.Last edited by savage1; 08-06-2009, 07:36 PM.
