Cal is a smooth talker. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he was the complete opposite of classy behind closed doors in this situation, especially if what I've heard is true.

One, and he's 17, and i don't have much interest in having another at this point!

If he were to leave this year, I would be grateful for 4 Sweet 16's in 5 yrs, a trip to the Final Four and setting up the program for yrs to come. Then I would look to the Admin (Prez and AD) to find someone to keep the momentum going.

And if you look at the way Cal handled this, class all the way...he didn;t play one school against the other, never asked for more money from Memphis, met with the school and the team on Monday...not one person from the school, in the articles I have read, has killed him for the way he handled this.
I agree. I think Calipari was as classy as you could be leaving a school. He mentioned Memphis and his love for them several times.

I think Jay is happy at 'Nova. It may not be a top 10 job but it is a pretty good one imo. Isn't he from the area too? I thought i heard he was and that he loved coaching at home.

Mavs, I like you, but you need to come in off the ledge before you hurt yourself!!!

When you look back at the best coach's in Memphis history are you going to see Calipari and say you hate him or are you going to see his name and think damn, we had alot of fun while he was here? I guess i would always think the latter but everyone is different.

And whenever that time was going to be (and I am really surprised that it was after this long) the timing was never going to be ideal...it can't be. Jay Wright is going to leave Nova for a better job at some point and I will be miserable...but if it is for a premium opportunity, I am not going to hold it against him...how could I? Even if we lose recruits...it comes with success. Would you have rather have been the dormant program you were prior to his arrival?

If Jay Wright were to leave in two weeks for Arizona, I would be thankful for what he has done for the program in the time he has been back as the top dawg...but if he were to leave for Memphis, I would be pissed!!!!

    My $.02.

We lose the top recruiting class in the nation, one of the best off all time IMO, and our best player (Evans).
IMO, Calipari is leaving for some more $$ and a more prestigious job, and is leaving his old spot in the shitter. It would be a stand up move if these kids honor their committments, and I hope they do, because if they all came and tyreke came back, the Tigers would have an ABSOLUTE monster of a team. Hope they come, doubt they will.

Btw, before you railroad Cal for 'taking' recruits, he may not have the scholorships to offer them AND it sounds like these recruits are bailing on Memphis whether they go to Kentucky or not. The best thing Memphis can do is name a coach in the next 48 hours and try to salvage whatever they may have left.

I understand the anger and frustration, but it should be, imo, directed at the process and system. I hear ya though...it blows to be a Tigers fan.

Calipari in one move has single handedly set Memphis back 15 years. Tyreke even said: If he's going I am too. I'm pissed at Cali for leaving. We also have now lost the 1,3 and 6th overall high school players in the nation.

I'm pissed that Cali is dismantling the Memphis program and now is even going to take some of the recruits to UK. If you were a Memphis fan, I think you might be mad too.
