the best part about all this is we are arguing over something that we cant control. I know what i saw and i know what happend. others have different views and thats fine.
i just cant continue to live with a blind eye. I have been screaming FIX on some games for years now. this is just another example in a long line of shady things that occur in professional sports.

the ruling on the field was TD why even review it other than the ATS issue?? someone answer me this. and please dont give me the "tie breaker" answer either
I saw it last week in a college game. They place the ball on the 10 yard line after a punt. The booth called for a review. They moved the ball back to the 8. It was a meaningless review during the middle of the game.

IN my opinion the NFL hasnt admitted a mistake. Folks are reacting to a confusing statement from the referee to a reporter -> where it is clear he was confused. I'd wait for the official version before making judgement.
Form your own opinion, go to the video and hit pause frame by frame and make your own judgement. Mine is forward. I'm sure some frame by frames will come out with an explanation like the music city play.
TO ALL, we can agree to disagree without reverting to negative attacks. The election is over. To all a good night!!!!
PS - ESPN just confirmed Pete Carroll was in the replay booth.

More often than not bullshit plays decide the outcome of a spread. One reason I like betting golf. Its as fair as can be.

that kills me also ... Like when it is 3rd or 4th and 1 on a quarterback sneak ... the whole stadium piles on top of everyone and a ref places the ball down any old where and then they get the sticks out to make it an accurate measurement ...

The non-TD had a direct impact on the pre-game betting line, Steelers (-5)
Green says the officiating crew erred in how to judge a play after an illegal pass
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The first 11-10 game in NFL history shouldn't have ended that way, referee Scott Green said after a last-minute touchdown was errantly taken away from the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
The officiating mistake didn't affect the outcome since the Steelers still would have won, but the touchdown would have changed the score to 17-10 -- or, more likely, 18-10, since the teams were lined up for an extra-point try that was never attempted.
On first-and-10 from San Diego's 21 with 5 seconds remaining, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers threw a short pass to LaDainian Tomlinson over the middle for 3 yards. Tomlinson turned and made a handoff-type lateral to wide receiver Chris Chambers, who attempted to pitch the ball to a teammate only to have safety Troy Polamalu scoop it up and score from the 12 (VIDEO).
Both teams left the field on what looked to be a game-ending play, but were called back by the officials for the extra-point attempt. At that point, the replay official called for a review.
After watching the play, Green initially announced the ruling on the field was upheld and the touchdown counted. But the officiating crew huddled again before the extra-point attempt and changed the call, deciding that an illegal forward pass by Rivers should've ended the play.
Green, in a postgame interview with a pool reporter, said that call was errant -- even though his explanation for the confusion was almost as confusing as the play itself.
"We should have let the play go through in the end, yes," Green said. "It was misinterpreted that instead of killing the play, we should have let the play go through."
Green said the confusion occurred because there was a misunderstanding about whether Rivers' pass or Tomlinson's lateral was in question.
"The first pass was the one that was illegal, but it only kills the play if it hits the ground," Green said. "That was incorrect to have killed it at that point. The ruling should have let the play go on. That's just the way that it played out. We believe the second pass (by Tomlinson) was legal."
Green was asked why, since the first pass by Rivers did not hit the ground, the officials decided after huddling that the play should have ended there.
"We didn't kill it on the field," Green said. "After (the) discussion we decided ... there was some confusion over which pass we were talking about and it was decided that it was the second pass that was illegal that did hit the ground and therefore we killed the play there."
However, the officials realized afterward they erred.
"I know," Green said. "The rule was misinterpreted."
Asked about the officiating -- the Steelers drew 115 yards in penalties to the Chargers' 5 -- Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin declined to comment.
"No, I have never seen a game ended with 13-to-1 in penalties, but I am not answering questions about the officiating," Tomlin said.
The call affected betting on the game since the Steelers were 5-point favorites and would have covered if the touchdown counted.
OMFG did you read this?? and you ppl believe these refs are competent enough to make calls correctly and know whats at stake with regards to tie breakers? they cant even get the story right. the call on the field was TD and they still couldnt hold to that. You guys laugh because it's the 7th tie breaker. I don't recall he teams. A few seasons ago the tie breaker came pretty far down the ladder. Almost to the point where they were discussing the potential use of a coin flip.
BTW, #5 tie breaker: Strength of victory

nobody has mentioned the holding call on the touchdown......refs can call holding on just about any play right? and they can also turn a blind eye to it at times....they called a hold and td was reversed, pitt kicks fg and everybody is happy with sd covering the spread...but wait, san diego decides to play hot potato with the ball and pitt gets a td, now the refs have a dilema and get a call with 0 time on the clock for a review......13-1 penalties and the last two calls decided the outcome of the game...

I guess GREEK is right, and he hit the nail on the head, when he said I was the antagonizer here....
He and Chado have a ton of e-mails stating so....remember....
Well PAPI---I'm going to BED, I've seen enough and had enough of the shots at other people on a constant basis, then saying I'm sorry, and then do it again....
also tired of seeing hyped up picks, and then the tallies for wins and losses don't match up....
I've disagreed with numerous people on this site, been called ignorant, hard headed, and what surprises me is GREEK didn't give me his obligatory GFYM phrase....which he does quite often....does the name calling quite often....flies off the handle, quite often....
gets away with it too.....gets away with what you say....that's just a few....
I'm going to Bed now PAPI---long day ahead of me, you entertain the 2 bufoons.....They are exactly what this Forum needs......Like the commercial says----you want em, you got em....TOYOTA.....
pretty pitiful when you can't give your opinion on a forum without being attacked, ridiculed, called ignorant, hardheaded, and like I say, was spared the GREEKS famous GFYM....how lucky am I....
These people aren't mature enough to have a debate.......Yeh I know, it's FIXED.....Pitiful
Get back to ya when I get a chance.....lots of work ahead of me, crimped for time....hold the fort down till I have a chance to post again....
Good night PAPI----love ya PAL
