Green Bay holds the high cards here. Why fold a pair of Aces? Farve is nothing but a drama queen. If I am Green Bay, I am the position of power, and what I says goes. I could give a shit about what the fans think. I have 10,000 poeple on a waiting list, so I will sell every ticket to every game I play at home. What I am going to do is take care of me first, then Farve. Taking care of me means that the Queen does not go to a NFC North team, and hopefully not to a NFC team at all. That is what GB is doing, and that is the right thing for the fans and the team

FROM ANOTHER FORUM -- BUT I AGREE WITH THIS AND LAUGHED MY ASS OFF AT THE SAME TIME:
are we talking about the same favre that sees peyton manning and tom brady in his rear view mirror to break all of his meaningful records and is too concerned about his own glory to leave after crying like a little girl at his retiriement last march? after manning and brady are retired with all the records favre will still be the all time interception king.
maybe huckleberry doesn't want his last nfl pass to be the ill-advised throw that set up his opponent going to the super bowl on his home field.
are we talking about the same jackass that is 3-7 his last 10 playoff games including home losses in that time to michael vick, daunte culpepper and eli? he couldn't beat eli who the media persecuted on his home field in 0 degree weather when the giants kicker kept giving them chance after chance.
are you talking about the same selfish bastard that got picked off six times in jan 2002 in st. louis in a playoff game?
are you talking about the same fuckhead who has no regard for anyone but himself who intentionally laid on the ground like the pussy he is so strahan could get the sack record?
is the same dildo that is holding one of the great franchises of sports hostage with his bullshit year in and year out?
it is time for pill-popping piece of crap to leave us alone and have him suck off john madden because everyone else is sick of him.
in the last ten years how many playoff games has he won?
THREE. how many playoff games has he lost at home in that time THREE.
What has he done in the last ten years? No MVP's, No Super Bowls. Quit living in the past junior and move into 2008.
how many hall of famers did they have in the prior 16 years before 1992?
if you are a packer fan you are as dumb as they make them. favre is ruining your franchise for years to come. you have no idea if rodgers is going to be good or not.
i know you are full of emotion and lack common sense about football due to having a small penis and living in your parents basement. facts get in the way of your opinions, but settle down, do a little research and you will see that i am right and you are wrong.
he has earned no rights to hold a team hostage. what good is it for the FRANCHISE-NOT HIM for him to show up to training camp? all he will be is a distraction.
take the dairy products off of your head and let my words of wisdom based on numbers sink in to that undersized brain or yours. you'll be glad you did.
SAL PAL Said it best:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...t&lid=tab2pos1
Read it and weap you favre lemmings. get a life and get a clue. if i am thompson give him three choices:
a-stay retired
b-give him a clipboard and a baseball cap
c-one way ticket to miami

People need to understand that this is a business. If I would have failed on my own after leaving my last job, I don't think my former employer would have welcomed me back with open arms and let me come back at my same position/salary. I know he wouldn't have come back to me and offered me more money not to work I did not have a non-compete clause, in essence Favre does. He signed a long term contract to assure that he would be taken care for the future. By signing the contract, he is the Packers "bitch". The sad part is that no matter what happens, Thompson and the Packer brass CANNOT win or even come out looking good. Now the interesting part of this is what happens if/when Rodgers gets hurt? Will the Packers go back with tail between the legs and try to talk Favre back out of retirement and would he come back? Stay tuned...You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning

IMO you'd feel different if it was Tom Brady. You wouldn't want him going to any division rivals especially a team like Vikings that many think will be in contention for the SB.

Say they did battle in camp , and Rodgers performs head and shoulders above Favre. What happens then ? Favre will bitch and scream and cry and retire or demand a trade
No win situation for GB
I'd have to think GB has extreme confidence in Rodgers abilities to go to these extremes. Also, QB controversies tear apart teams. Brett retired. They made their commitment to Rodgers.

I agree with all the above comments. Except for a few seasons he plays in a very mediocre division. Also, unlike the AFC, the NFC hasn't had any dominate teams since Cowboys in the early 1990s. If he was so fucking great why hasn't he been in the SB in 10 seasons. During this stretch there's been some teams without stellar QBs playing in the SB. Bears (Grossman), Panthers (Delhomme), Bucs (Johnson), Atlanta.
